Hi, @Sandra1215 , I do not think that the air pods will be preventing your Fitbit from syncing, although it might be a good idea to have them put away in their case when you try to sync.  If you are really concerned you could move them out of Bluetooth range (up to 30 feet away) as it is possible that the Bluetooth signals can interfere.  Having said that, I use air pods and Fitbits together and have not found this an issue.

Sync problems are fairly common, and usually resolve themselves, but if the issue persists, you might want to follow the troubleshooting steps here

Will your I phone sync to your fitbit while you are using your AirPods, I,e,, I use the AirPods to listen to podcasts while I am walking and while the fitbit registers the exercise, the phone does not.  Have you noticed this problem?  Someone mentioned that Bluetooth will not pick up two different devices at the same time ??
Thanks for your response.
