Hi everyone,
I just received my Alta after pre-ordering. I am currently in the process of setting it up using the android app. Right now it is not seeing it while my bluetooth is on. The first screen says Power Up, and it is searching for it but does not find it. After that, the Not Working? screen comes up, and you have the option to try again. After selecting try again, It then says Bluetooh Issues. This is where you can restart Bluetooth, which I've done multiple times already. I know my bluetooth works on my phone because I have it setup to work with my headphones with no problems. I have it securely connected to the USB pin connecter which is then connected to my PC. It is charging so I know there is connectivity. I've restarted my phone a few times, but to no avail. I never had any problem connecting with my HR. Has anyone else experienced this with the Alta, does anyone know of anything that I could do to fix this issue.
Thanks!

Just got my Alta and this is terrible. Einstein defines insanity as doing the same thing again and again and expecting a different result. Well setup of this device is insanity. First I thought let me disconnect my One and I did. Wouldn't pair. Reconnected my One just fine, not a problem. Tried the app for MAC, WOW what a mess. The app kept sending me an error that Bluetooth was not on. Of course Bluetooth is on my keyboard and mouse use it. So back to the Alta, tried all of the troubleshooting steps I rad on the Fitbit site and nothing. Only thing I can think of at this point is this has to go back. I'll keep my One, this is way too aggravating and shouldn't be happening, not in 2016 with a company that just makes fitness trackers. It should take all of about 10 seconds to pair and be on your way. Ridiculous!!!! Unacceptable and once call volume settles down from the release this thing goes back.

@Karnzo Sorry for the miscommunication but glad to hear that it worked for you when you tried syncing via the wireless sync dongle. I will make sure to pass your feedback along.
@ashleighs To follow-up, were you able to update your Alta's firmware?
@sandrasinger07 Try a tracker restart once you've put in the pin and then try to sync over again.
@swtjerseymama Sorry to hear that it took so long to get it up and running but glad that you found a method to complete set up.
@kcsemo210 Yay! Points for our awesome Support Team! Happy to hear you're successfully syncing now.
To clarify, as @swtjerseymama said you can most definitely sync automatically with the app's "all-day sync" setting.
@JodyD Great to hear that you're back to syncing after attempting set up with the wireless dongle. Thanks for sharing your experience.
@Rastro9 I suggest trying out the suggestions by @3D_Dream_S here. If a restart doesn't resolve the set up issue, please reach out to our Support Team who is always willing to help get you back on track.

I'm getting the same thing. My Alta just shows fitbit.com\setup no matter what I do. Wicked bummed here.

I finally got mine setup. I had to reset it like 4 times. The last time, I kind of held the button each time before I released it and then pushed it again. It finally reset and then I was able to set it up. Ugh.

This is so dissapointing. There is nothing that tells us to do that and I finally found you. Its like Obama care and not having the bugs out before start up...I might just send mine back. been trying for 24 hours to set up

That's exactly what I had to do too. I downloaded the app for windows 10, and I connected it via USB with the dongle and it recognized it and it started to work.
Thanks for the help!

Help ErickFitbit! Can't add my alta to my existing app (have a charge). When I click on "Set Up a New Fitbit Device," and select Alta, I have a blue screen that says: Set Up Your (null). I've done the hard re-set (with the 3 clicks of the charger in 8 seconds). Have re-powered my iPhone. Have turned off and back on Bluetooth and wiFi on phone settings. Thoughts? I'm SO EXCITED for the Alta! The Charge has been AWESOME but it's big and bulky for my little wrist. I know you can help! Whoop Whoop 😃
