Hi everyone,
I just received my Alta after pre-ordering. I am currently in the process of setting it up using the android app. Right now it is not seeing it while my bluetooth is on. The first screen says Power Up, and it is searching for it but does not find it. After that, the Not Working? screen comes up, and you have the option to try again. After selecting try again, It then says Bluetooh Issues. This is where you can restart Bluetooth, which I've done multiple times already. I know my bluetooth works on my phone because I have it setup to work with my headphones with no problems. I have it securely connected to the USB pin connecter which is then connected to my PC. It is charging so I know there is connectivity. I've restarted my phone a few times, but to no avail. I never had any problem connecting with my HR. Has anyone else experienced this with the Alta, does anyone know of anything that I could do to fix this issue.
Thanks!

I got a fitbit Alta for Mother's Day. I previously had a different fitbit. Now as I try to set up my Alta it won't let me use the same email because my other fitbit is registered under that name. I only have 1 email account and would like to use it for my new Alta.
Could you please help me with this.
Thank you,
Phyllis

Your trying to set it up as a new user, through the app, log into you account, go to the device settings, press the plus sign, choose add or replace.
Through the Fitbit connect software chose the i have an account, log in and continue, you'll need to decide if you want to replace the current tracker or add a second tracker.

This helped me get mine to work on my galaxy 6s. Thank you so much!

Delete fitbit app on phone, reboot phone.
Reinstall fitbit app on phone
Open fitbit app, and get to the screen to add new tracker. Stop before it starts to search
Plug tracker into computer, reset it (hit button on the cord 3 times in less then 8 seconds) This factory resets the tracker.
Make sure the tracker is on, then begin the search for the tracker on the phone. This should hopefully work

I had the worst issues trying to setup my new Alta, but I finally got it resolved.
Initially, I was able to connect and run setup but then the firmware update failed and wouldn't sync so I removed the Alta from my account and tried to start over. Every subsequent time I tried to setup the Alta I would get an error saying that connection to the tracker was lost. I tried installing from a kindle, a windows 7 pc, a windows 10 pc and my Samsung galaxy s5 nothing worked. I disconnected my existing Charge HR and that didn't work I reconnected my Charge HR and still nothing worked. I uninstalled the fitbit app on my pc and on my phone and reset my alta 3 times in a row. I even set up a new account using an old email address and tried to set it up there thinking that reregistering it to a new user would clear any old data from my account, but that didn't work either. I would get to various stages in the process which was interesting, but I could never complete the setup. Finally, I called Fitbit. They told me that they showed that my Alta was paired on their side but could also see that it was not showing up in my dashboard and wouldn't sync. They offered to send me a new one. I declined as my fitbit was from Costco and I knew that i could exchange it faster.
I tried one last thing, I reset my Alta 3 times and made sure that my phone's bluetooth pairing to the Alta was deleted, then then, I got in my car with my phone and the Alta, and I left my house. I parked in a large parking lot away from intereference and turned off my car (which is paired to my phone via bluetooth.) I opened the app on my phone and attempted to add a new device. To my amazement it worked. I guess perhaps my wireless mouse, keyboard, our sonos speakers, panasonic phone with blue tooth pairing to cell phones, roku, xbox, wii, my car or one of the other bluetooth devices in our house was interferring. Works great now.

I have been attempting to set up my FitBit Alta since last night. Tried it on different devices, reset my iphone to factory settings, everything. My phone just keeps searching for it. Please help before I throw it out the window. Very frustrating. Yes, I turned off bluetooth and turned it back on.

Call Alta and have them walk you step-by-step through the process until you get everything synced properly. This will save you a lot of frustration period insist they walk you through it while you are on the phone with them that's what I did.
