Step count drops when exercise is added

Hey,

I’ve noticed a couple times that when I’ve gone for a walk, once in a while my Fitbit might not auto recognize it. Then when I’ve entered it in as an exercise manually, it then drops my step count and active minutes. So my step count went from 10,000 to 7,000?!

I’m wondering if anyone else has had this issue, or knows why it does this?

If Fitbit auto-recognized a walk, it makes no sense to then also manually log it.

Manually logging a workout overrides data that was actually recorded, based on the parameters you choose when logging it.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.

Sorry I had written “now” instead of “not” by accident. Sometimes it does not auto recognize the exercise.
