Why Alta HR only last 1 year

This is the second Alta HR in as many years that I have had why?. I  do not get it wet other the the sweat on my arm when I workout and that is what it is for to track your workout so why do keep dying on me every year?. A unhappy customer.

The Alta HR was discontinued in March 2019. That means that the devices you bought were manufactured before that date. Rechargeable batteries have a shelf life and they will die after a while, even if they are never used.

 

Any Alta HR that you buy now is going to have a battery that is more than three years old and that's a long time for a battery. It might make sense to think about trying something like the Luxe, which is still being produced and will come with a fresher battery.
