altahr suddenly won't sync

All of a sudden, my AltaHR won't sync with my computer or my tablet. They recognize it, but can't connect and pair. I have tried everything I have found on the Internet, but nothing has worked. Has anyone else had this problem? Also, when I got my AltaHR, I put my other Alta in a box. It was not used for quite some time. Now it is completely dead. Is there anyway I wake it up so I can give it to a friend?

My fitbit also doesn't sync at times and goes dead.  The only way to get it to work is to put the charger on it but when I do it is still half charged.  How do I get it to keep syncing?
