since a week my alta hr doesn't register my sleep stages properly and also the heartbeat is wrong. (Way too high) I tried to reset my tracker by pressing the reset button. That didn't help. I noticed that the green lights are more bright than they used to be.
What to do?

I have exactly the same. After working perfectly for a couple of years, suddenly my Alta HR is massively over-reading my heartrate, even when I'm sitting down at rest. My actual, properly-measured heartrate will be in the 60s, but the Alta is shiowing between 110 and 150. It even carries on reading this high when I'm not even wearing it.
This happens for about 20 hours a day - it clearly doesn't think I'm sleeping with such a high heart rate, and I'm also having 1200 active minutes a day and burning about 7000 extra calories, so all the data is meaningless,
It looks like the heartrate sensors are wel and truly knackered, so this device is now just an expensive watch - and not a very good one at that!
Has anyone who's had thisbefore managed to fix it, or is it just this device telling me it's time for thebin?

I may have fixed this, although not sure yet as I only did it an hour or so.
I cleaned the contacts with a moist cotton-bud and then very gently with the tip of a cocktail stick and so far it seems to have worked.

I have the same problem. I tried cleaning the contacts, and that helped for about a day. If I take the alta hr off, and IF it actually quits registering a heart rate, or if I reset it; then it will work until the next time I work out/heart rate increases. Then it just continues to go up, even if it is sitting next to me. Has anyone successfully fixed this issue?
