11 yo Kid can't create account

I've given my 11 yr old my hr as I've upgraded. He can't set up a fitbit account on his phone. I've deleted the hr from my account. Any advice on why this might be happening amd how to resolve it? Thanks.

Thanks for bringing this up. As per the Fitbit Terms Of Service, a kid younger than 13 can't open a Fitbit account so this seems like what is happening on this instance. Maybe you could look into the Fitbit Ace for a Fitbit device for children below that age.

Please let me know if you have any further questions.

Hi, appreciate this thread is a couple of weeks old, however why are Fitbit forcing a purchase of a new device (presently at £80)?

Would it not be possible to "reuse & recycle" our older devices for our children?

Thanks

I agree but I think there might be something to do with eating disorders/body dysmorphia at play for under 14s.

Hello @gazoco and @jennymac2018.

Any questions related to the Fitbit Ace should be on the Ace board but please keep in mind that the Fitbit Ace was specifically designed to be used by kids and in conjunction with the Family Account feature.

If there are any other questions feel free to let me know.

Hi, my son (10) has an Ace on my family account. We just got him an Inspire HR. How can I link it to his profile?

Hello @CarloN.

I apologize for the delay in my response. Thanks for posting your question.

At this time only the Fitbit Ace devices can be set up with children's accounts.

If you have the time, maybe you could support this suggestion to have the option to set up other Fitbit devices to those accounts. You can comment on it or vote for it to show your support. Be sure to read the FAQ to better understand how that board works.

Feel free to let me know if there are any other questions I can help out with.
