3.71 app update issues

I started rowing on an erg after receiving my Inspire HR for Christmas in 2020. I have to manually enter my daily meters and double the calories since a chest monitor showed me a more accurate result of calorie burn. When I type in Rowing Machine and choose it from the drop down menu, I have seconds to enter my meters or that field collapses and I have to start all over. There's an Rowing machine choice in the drop down that I believe should not be listed as it's just confusing garbage. When I received the 3.70 update notification this month, I downloaded it with the expectation this buggy situation would be resolved. Now, the collapse problem still exists but I'm also unable to enter my calories. That field is greyed out and does not reset. My phone is Android 11 and the current Fitbit app version says 3.71 followed by mobile and more numbers but I'm unable to copy it for pasting here. Will this ever work for my exercise and is there a team at Fitbit that addresses such an obvious code issue? I might consider going back a version but that doesn't really fix the issues.
