7 day sleep summary shows incorrectly goal completion

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Hi there

Does anyone get this where the sleep section of your 7 day summary shows that you've met your daily goal when you haven't?

I don't seem to be able to upload the screen grabs but they show around 4 days of meeting my goal of 8 hours where my daily sleep has been between 5-6.5 hours

Many thanks

Hi there @SunsetRunner, welcome aboard to the Fitbit Community! It would be nice to see that screenshot so if you need additional help, perhaps the following post might be of your help to upload screenshots to the Community.

Have you try with a restart your mobile device? If you haven't please do the following steps:

Log out from your Fitbit app and go to your phone settings. Access to the App manager option and look for the Fitbit app in your downloaded apps list. Once you are there, clear the app cache and data and proceed to "Force Stop" the app. Finish the workaround by restarting your phone. When your phone has initialized, go back to your app and try again.

Give it a try and let me know how it goes.

Hi Roberto

I tried the restart and it didn't change.

As you can see above, the 7 day report shows I am reaching my goal when I'm not.

Many thanks

Yeah I have the exact same problem. Saying I'm hitting my goal sleep wise when I'm not even close. It makes it quite hard to look at my 7 day summary properly and review the week

Hi there @SunsetRunner thank you for sharing the screenshots and welcome aboard to the Fitbit Community! My apologies since I've been absent from this thread. Since it has been a while I'm wondering how it goes? Is the issue still persisting?

Certainly this is not a normal behavior although I haven't found this is a glitch of the Android app. Have you tried to reset the sleep goal again? If you haven't please give it a try, it might help to address this issue in case still persists.

  1. From the Fitbit app dashboard, tap the sleep tile. This is the tile that says "How did you sleep?" or, if you tracked sleep the night before, shows how many hours and minutes you slept.
  2. Tap the gear in the top right.
  3. Adjust your sleep goal and save.

See you later and for more questions stay tuned to our Fitbit Community!

I'm also experiencing this issue. Strangely it seems like the sleep portion of the 7 day goals is the only one having issues.

I've tried resetting app data and cache as well and that doesn't seem to have fixed the issue.

Hi there @Barclay78, thank you for visiting us and my apologies for the late response. So far as I mentioned in my previous post the issue was escalated to be investigated. Rest assure we are working hard to get this issue fix and find the source of the glitch.

For the time being I recommend to update your Fitbit app to the latest version. The latest version can be found in this post. Let me know if there is any change of behavior in its functionality.

I have the same problem! It shows my progress as always getting enough sleep my goal was 7 hours and I was getting about 6 hours every night. So I raised my goal to 8 and still have the same problem....

Hello there @Rebecs1993, thank you for visiting our Fitbit Community! My apologies for the late response and I was reading you are seeing your 7 day summary is telling you have met your goal despite you are getting 6 hours of sleep.

In this case after we received report from other users was determined this is a glitch in the Fitbit app. So far our team is aware of this issue and is investigating the source of it to roll a fix in the future.

In the meantime, I recommend to maintain your app updated to the most recent version. For more details please review this post.

At this time is the only information available. When more news arise I will visiting to keep you informed.

I too have this problem. As far as I am aware it has been this way since I got my charge 2 at Christmas 2016. It would be nice to have it corrected. So many of fibbit's faults seem to persist for years despite all the updates. Perhaps they should concentrate on getting the existing things fully functioning instead of adding more window dressing.  Even all your new toys appear to be riddled with problems as basic as synching. Does no one use their own product or do the paying public get an inferior version ?

This problem is still persisting for me even after the latest update. Has anything changed for anybody else?

Any news of a fix?

Best Answer

@Lilbiddy it is still a problem. No idea when it will be fixed. I have given up on the fix any time soon.

@RobertoME still waiting for the fix.

I don't think 2 hours and 20 odd minutes would be most people's idea of a sleep goal met. Wasn't even long enough to register sleep stages, but showed up as goal met.

Actually I didn't sleep but I was totally engrossed in a good book so not physically active, ah but the mind was soaring.

@RobertoME yeah it's me again. Reporting another updates failure to fix this problem.

Still this thread has only been active since October last year, it hasn't had its first birthday yet. Should we start planning for its college fund now?

Hello all, it's 8/26/18, and I have this problem too. It was nice finding out that I am not the only one having this issue, but this sense of shared suffering is not enough! Is there a way to escalate this issue in a more aggressive way since it's been recognized for quite a while now and still isn't addressed?

Best Answer

One reason this is probably not getting the attention it needs is that it is not competitive. If it were and the problem was reversed people would be yelling their heads off that it wasn't shown as completed. Mind you, with the number of people who can't even sync they may not know they have this problem.

Happy birthday dear bug.

Another year and still not fixed.
