Dare I ask if there are any compatibility issues between 10 and the Fitbit app?

For what it's worth, I had to factory reset my Fitbit Ionic and go through the pairing process again. After doing this and the latest Android app update, I was able to sync my watch again with no issues, and I am now getting all notifications. Let's hope this lasts.

I did the same thing when this first started happening. It worked the first day and then nothing. Fitbit is sending a replacement Versa but I have a feeling it's not the device and it's something hardware related

I've been holding off on updating to Android 10 because I'm afraid that my Flex2 and/or the app itself will stop working.  In about a month I will complete the program I joined through my health insurance, then I'm going to be looking at Fitbit alternatives because of this, and because of the Withings scale issue.  Fitbit's customer service has been a complete joke.

You're not kidding. I've reached out several times and they're completely useless.

Uninstalled and reinstalled fitbit app.App has been showing random, incorrect steps (showed 7,666 then a minute later, under 1000. Time zone is set to device). Battery and steps notifications no longer received. Uninstalled and reinstalled fitbit app. No improvement. I am using a Fitbit Flex, so no way of seeing steps without app (or maybe using a computer?? But would I really have to do that every day??!!).

Have been considering updating Fitbit, but I am not going to do that if it's not going to work with Pixel 3 using Android 10.

I called Fitbit tech support and the first thing they said is that Pixel 3 is NOT SUPPORTED fully, so that any issues are due to the phone, not Fitbit.

Moreover, I DO NOT GET NOTIFICATION VIBRATIONS on my Versa Special Edition anymore.

I have unpaired and paired, deleted the app, reset the Versa.

Between the inaccurate heart sensor and the connectivity issues, the Versa is a $200 pedometer.

Sleep works, but to get access to detailed data, I have to pay Fitbit a monthly fee, which is not worth it. All of Fitbit's major competitors offer it for the price of the hardware.

Overall, purchasing a Fitbit was a mistake. I will not make the same mistake again.

That makes absolutely no sense, I've had my phone since it came out and it never gave me one single issue. My ionic synced with my pixel 3 just fine, as did my versa up until the last Fitbit update. They're making excuses because they don't have any answers for us. Just like when I search Android 10 Fitbit sync issues, two days ago there was a link to this threat and now it's mysterious gone. I see you Fitbit, and I'm looking into new tech from somewhere else who doesn't have their head in the sand

The issues still persist with me, ever since the Android 10 update on my Pixel 3XL. I tried contacting fitbit support via twitter chat, they eventually admitted there was a problem and that fitbit is working on it, but no estimated date for a fix yet. No text notifications or phone call notifications.

And yes, I'm on the latest app update and have done all of the basic troubleshooting steps.

Please mark this topic "Not Solved" since it is giving people a false sense of hope to see that the issue is "Solved" when it really isn't. Thanks!

Since I installed Android 10, my phone call notifications on my Fitbit Charge 2 have been working but my text message notifications have not.

I noticed today that if I switch to a different messaging app other than Android Messages, the notifications on my Fitbit worked.  It seems that the problem is not Android 10, but something that changed in Android Messages that prevents delivery to the Fitbit.

If you're experiencing the same problem there are two ways to work around this... You can move to a different messaging app (Textra works), or you can install the Fit Notifications app from the Play Store.  Fit Notifications takes a minute to configure but allows you to keep using Android Messages if you prefer.

I hope this helps others.

<<==== this works. Fitbit says that you can't enable the advanced messaging features or text notifications won't work, but even without them enabled (and they can't enable on T-Mobile, my carrier) they still just don't work. Google changed the way it works and Fitbit didn't change their app to compensate. Maybe the emulator just isn't good enough in this case?

Fit Notifications works great, and you can configure it for all of your messaging apps. Messages, Messenger, WhatsApp, Telegram, whatever. They all work, and it tells you where it came from. Highly recommended.

I think calls may now display the person who's actually calling, though I only get calls from a few people so it's possible that it's still pulling a random previous call and it just happens to be the same.

Judging by the upvotes, it seems that @3choboomer  actually has the best answer.

I wish I'd searched for this before updating. My phone did the update to Android 10 last night and my text notifications have stopped going to my Inspire. All other notifications are still coming through.

It appears there are issues for many people -- is there an estimated time to when this will be resolved?

Same happened to my charge 3. I finally fixed it. It appears installing Android 10 turns off "notification access" for the Fitbit app. This permission is buried deep in the notifications and apps section of settings. Apps & notifications > Advanced > Special app access > Notification access. Flip the switch on for the Fitbit app. Uninstalling and reinstalling may have the same effect as the set up takes you there. This fix is for if it was working fine before 10 only.
