Fitbit Update: 3/6/19
Hello everyone!
We have some updated troubleshooting suggestions we'd like for all of you on Android Pie (9.0) to try.
First, turn off Background Restrictions/Limitations: Phone settings > Apps & Notifications > Fitbit app > Background restrictions or Background limits.
Then, disable battery limitations:
Please give the steps above a try to improve syncing with your Fitbit device and Android 9.0 OS. We're still researching and testing out long-term solutions to this ongoing syncing issue. We thank you for all your patience while we continue to work on this effort.

Hey Everyone!
Our team is still working on implementing a longterm fix for syncing with Android devices on Pie (9.0).
For the background syncing issue, I have posted an update in the other floated thread which you can find here.
We released Fitbit for Android version 2.80 today which contains improvements for that syncing issue.
I'll make sure to keep you all updated with more information, as soon as I have it available. We're still working on this and I really appreciate everyone's patience.

I will continue to provide updates here, so keep an eye on this thread.
Fitbit Update: 9/10/18
Hi, everybody!
Thanks for your patience while our team continues to work on improving syncing for those on Android Pie (9.0). They are actively working on this and for the time being, I recommend you keep the Fitbit app updated on the latest version for best syncing results. Right now that is version 2.78, so if you're not on this version please update! Also, another troubleshoot we recommend is performing a restart on your phone.
When there are more improvements made in the future I'll announce them here. Stay tuned and subscribed to this thread.
Fitbit Update: 8/19/18
We have escalated these syncing issues for those who are now using Android Pie (9.0) to our team for investigation. There aren't any updates at the moment, but rest assured we will keep you informed in this thread when more information is available.
Thanks for your patience!

Hi, everyone! Thanks for stopping by the Community Forums.
Seems like many of you who updated to Android Pie (9.0) are now having trouble syncing your Fitbit trackers. I'm going to escalate this to our team so they can look into it.
In the meantime, please update the Fitbit app to version 2.76.1 if you haven't yet. Let me know if that changes the syncing behavior. Please follow this thread for updates. I'll keep you all posted here!

Vote with your wallets next time folks. This is my first Fitbit device but I'm not sure if my next fitness tracker will be a Fitbit anymore.

Versa user here with OnePlus 6.
When I originally updated from Oreo to Pie (9.0.0), sync broke, tried all the troubleshooting steps on this thread, none worked. Ended up downgrading to Oreo, then everything worked.
OnePlus released 9.0.2 November 1st, I took leap of faith and updated my phone. After the Android OS update, I open Fitbit app, no sync. Uninstall Fitbit app, went to system bluetooth settings, 'forget' Versa device, reboot phone, re-install Fitbit app. Without pairing the Versa, open Fitbit app, log in. SYNC WORKS!
It has been working for about 1 hour. I enabled notification within the Fitbit app, granted app permissions, notifications are coming through, but they don't pop up on my Versa, I have to swipe down on the watch to see the notifications, and no vibration. Always connected, All-Day Sync are enabled on the Fitbit app. I am happy for now that at least Sync is working, will mess around with the notification bug later.

will do @SunsetRunner.
Quick update, the notification magically started working few minutes ago. I have email and text notification enabled within Fitbit app. The notifications are popping up on my Versa, including vibration.
Lets hope everything continues to work.

Curious, are there any Fitbit trackers that are working fine with Android 9 Pie??
My Fitbit one is unchanged, reboot it nightly to sync it once, it works, but only for the moment.
I'm not without some sympathy for the software developers, i realize Android has made changes that may be impossible to fix, at some point you have to call it and try to help out the affected customers.
Thanks.

To be clear, my OnePlus 6 with Android 9.0.2 Pie is working. I am not sure if the issue was resolved as result of the Android 9.0.2 update, or Fitbit app update to 2.82.
There was no mention of Bluetooth bug fixes in the 9.0.2 OnePlus release notes.

I have a charge 3 that didn't sync so I switched back to my charge 2, that worked perfectly with my Pixel 2XL, running Pie. I switched back to the 3 about 2 weeks ago and it has worked perfectly now. I didn't change any settings or restart anything, so I don't know why it works.
The charge 3 did an update when I tried the second time, though.

My is working Ok, but not quite perfect. I have a Charge 2 and Pixel 2 (running Pie). It syncs ok now but the notifications are hit and miss. Most of the time when I get a call it says its an unknown number.
My wife has a One with a Pixel 2. Phone can't find the One. When updates would come out I would try and see if it changed anything but now she is sick and tired of the whole thing and won't let me near it anymore. I think she is going to try the google App and just use Google Fit.
I have put off buying a Charge 3 until I see what may happen here. I really want to see how the S02 sensor works but there seems to be very little discussion about that anymore.

The amount of time it is taking to fix this issue is ridiculous. Almost three months since the issue was first reported. The Android community is being ignored!! You should be halting all new features until this problem is resolved. Just look at your rating in Play Store. 3.9 and dropping.

It would be easier to answer if you would tell what tracker you have.

It doesn't achieve 0.1% of the market as of 26th October.
So less than 1 in 1000 devices run Pie.

Try the following steps:
- forget it in the app
- factory reset the tracker
- delete all data of the app
- uninstall and reinstall app
- set it up as a new device

Sure, it seems that One is problematic now.
The other colleague mentioned Charge 2, I guess it works for that device.

The statics of Android do not matter. That 0.1% will continue to grow month after month as manufactures push out the update. Are you against a solution to the problem? Why response with this information? It's not helpful.
