Fitbit Update: 3/6/19
Hello everyone!
We have some updated troubleshooting suggestions we'd like for all of you on Android Pie (9.0) to try.
First, turn off Background Restrictions/Limitations: Phone settings > Apps & Notifications > Fitbit app > Background restrictions or Background limits.
Then, disable battery limitations:
Please give the steps above a try to improve syncing with your Fitbit device and Android 9.0 OS. We're still researching and testing out long-term solutions to this ongoing syncing issue. We thank you for all your patience while we continue to work on this effort.

Fitbit Update: 9/10/18
Hi, everybody!
Thanks for your patience while our team continues to work on improving syncing for those on Android Pie (9.0). They are actively working on this and for the time being, I recommend you keep the Fitbit app updated on the latest version for best syncing results. Right now that is version 2.78, so if you're not on this version please update! Also, another troubleshoot we recommend is performing a restart on your phone.
When there are more improvements made in the future I'll announce them here. Stay tuned and subscribed to this thread.
Fitbit Update: 8/19/18
We have escalated these syncing issues for those who are now using Android Pie (9.0) to our team for investigation. There aren't any updates at the moment, but rest assured we will keep you informed in this thread when more information is available.
Thanks for your patience!
Fitbit Update: 8/11/18
Hi, everyone! Thanks for stopping by the Community Forums. ![]()
Seems like many of you who updated to Android Pie (9.0) are now having trouble syncing your Fitbit trackers. I'm going to escalate this to our team so they can look into it.
In the meantime, please update the Fitbit app to version 2.76.1 if you haven't yet. Let me know if that changes the syncing behavior. Please follow this thread for updates. I'll keep you all posted here!

Mine is an Ionic.
I noticed that it showed up as a paired device in the Bluetooth settings (no doubt from long ago), so for grins, I had Bluetooth forget the device and cleared the Bluetooth app cache.
Back in the Fitbit app, it took longer, but still managed to sync; afterwards, the Ionic no longer appears in the Bluetooth app, but it does seem to be working (for now, but it has always worked after an airplane mode cycle, for a few hours).
I wonder, though, given that whatever method Fitbit is using for sync now doesn't result in a paired device appearing in the Bluetooth app, if there was some kind of deadlock/race/conflict between the device pairing with the phone and the app communicating with the device (maybe using BLE?).
Will see if I'm back to "tracker not found" in a few hours.
Best AnswerSame issue here.
Android one 9.0 on Nokia 7.1 - US
Versa
Stopped syncing after update.
Tried:
* restart phone and watch
* reset app (cache, install, uninstall)
* reset watch
* reset Bluetooth on device
Now I can't pair device.
------------------------
UPDATE: Working now.
What I did:
1) pair and sync the Versa with the Win10 PC fitbit app
2) during the process of pairing with PC, the Versa got what it seems an update
3) after that I reset the Versa and and I paired it with the phone
4) pairing and sync are working as expected now with the phone
Fitbit telling users to work around this issue is frankly iinsulting Majority of us have used our trackers fine for years or months. They're now inoperable after Android 9 update. Your software is a bad joke. Your Android team are clowns. The app was awful even before this latest. Made me laugh: I just got a prompt on this website saying "let us know how we did?" And two buttons. The "yes, when I'm done" button took me straight to the survey. Classic Fitbit product. Your brand is rubbish. What a joke.
Go buy an Oura ring folks.
Same problem, will not sync. Phone Samsung S7. Stopped syncing on the 18th, worked well before that. Have tried everything mentioned on here, no go.
I get to- Found your tracker, then Pair your tracker, gives code, fed in then connecting....... Nothing happens.
Phone advices cannot connect to Charge3.....
Wife has same problem. Thought I bought good devices, looks like no.....
I have the same phone and also have a Charge 3 and also have not been able to sync since Nov 18. Let me know if you find a solution.
Best AnswerAfter the update it also stopped syncing for me. Logging out from app then logging in fixed the problem.
Best AnswerMine has been syncing for a couple weeks. Google did some updates and now it won't sync again.
Best AnswerHello, I'm on the same boat as you, going to try that and come back later with the results.
Thanks.
Update:
@gabep I tried your tips but sadly it didn't work despite having the same devices (phone and watch).
I couldn't connect using my laptop (probably because it is an old model) so I sideloaded the fitbit app on a Nvidia Shield.
Indeed, it updated the device and successfully paired with the Shield. Then I removed the device from the app right away and did a factory reset, restarted the phone and tried to add the device, however I still get the Bluetooth Issues message and can't go further.
Hi -
I have a fitbit versa and samsung galaxy S7 with the fitbit app. The app is able to sync only the current day's data (only including steps, floors, miles, cals, and active minutes, it does not sync heart rate or sleep stats). The next day, the previous day's data is gone. I have no data accessible in the app since Nov. 8 2018. Is there any fix for this?
Best AnswerI'm already getting myself a device from another brand. I'm gonna give the Versa to my niece who has an iPhone 8 and is able to pair without problems.
I had high expectations from this brand and I feel very disappointed.
