Fitbit Update: 3/6/19
Hello everyone!
We have some updated troubleshooting suggestions we'd like for all of you on Android Pie (9.0) to try.
First, turn off Background Restrictions/Limitations: Phone settings > Apps & Notifications > Fitbit app > Background restrictions or Background limits.
Then, disable battery limitations:
Please give the steps above a try to improve syncing with your Fitbit device and Android 9.0 OS. We're still researching and testing out long-term solutions to this ongoing syncing issue. We thank you for all your patience while we continue to work on this effort.

Hey Everyone!
Our team is still working on implementing a longterm fix for syncing with Android devices on Pie (9.0).
For the background syncing issue, I have posted an update in the other floated thread which you can find here.
We released Fitbit for Android version 2.80 today which contains improvements for that syncing issue.
I'll make sure to keep you all updated with more information, as soon as I have it available. We're still working on this and I really appreciate everyone's patience.

Fitbit Update: 9/10/18
Hi, everybody!
Thanks for your patience while our team continues to work on improving syncing for those on Android Pie (9.0). They are actively working on this and for the time being, I recommend you keep the Fitbit app updated on the latest version for best syncing results. Right now that is version 2.78, so if you're not on this version please update! Also, another troubleshoot we recommend is performing a restart on your phone.
When there are more improvements made in the future I'll announce them here. Stay tuned and subscribed to this thread.
Fitbit Update: 8/19/18
We have escalated these syncing issues for those who are now using Android Pie (9.0) to our team for investigation. There aren't any updates at the moment, but rest assured we will keep you informed in this thread when more information is available.
Thanks for your patience!

Seems like many of you who updated to Android Pie (9.0) are now having trouble syncing your Fitbit trackers. I'm going to escalate this to our team so they can look into it.
In the meantime, please update the Fitbit app to version 2.76.1 if you haven't yet. Let me know if that changes the syncing behavior. Please follow this thread for updates. I'll keep you all posted here!

@LanuzaFitbit Why do you keep asking us to reach out with questions? I've put forward some very basic ones, and all the response you ever give is a boilerplate. If you're not going to answer questions, stop asking for them.

My Fitbit has worked for years with no problems. Since the pie update in October I have not been able to get it to sync. I just did every suggestion to try and get it to sync, the last ones being deleting it from the app and unpairing it from my phone (which is a Pixel XL). Now my phone will no longer pair with it, it shows up in the available devices but when selected the phone seems like its pairing but then stops and puts it back into the available devices area. It will not connect through the app either. I have run out of things to try...

It seems that syncing with Android Pie is an issue for many people. Fitbit are aware of the problem. Keep an eye on the following thread which has the latest updates from fitbit and some things to try that have worked for others:

Just really disappointed with your complete lack of customer service. No support for older devices. I've worn a Fitbit since you released the Ultra. Not the same company that you were back then.

So if I am reading this right, on October 3, AlessFitbit posted saying an update is pushed and it resolves the syncing issues, but now as of November 16, LanuzaFitbit is saying this issue is still being looked at?! What is taking them so long to fix this issue? I've already asked for another replacement but if it's actually just a sync issue with Android 9.0, then there is really no use for me to keep asking for replacements...
Anyone using Pixel phones able to successfully set up and sync their Fitbit devices AFTER upgrading to Android 9.0? Before my phone updated, I was able to successfully set up and sync my Fitbit. Unfortunately I had to get a replacement for my Fitbit due to a screen issue, and now I cannot set it up. I'm wondering if it is a phone OS issue or I just got a crappy replacement unit.

Hello everyone.
We had some reports that one of the previous updates had helped with the syncing. Since then we received more posts mentioning that it was not the case and so we're still looking into this situation. As I did mention before, our team is looking into it along with Google so that we can find a solution to the syncing.
Thanks for your patience and understanding.
