Android App keeps crashing/quiting

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.
When I try to select the track exercise running person to use my phones GPS for my runs the app quits. The dialogue box reads, "Unfortunately, Fitbit has stopped." And I can either select report or ok. I have reported this.
Things I have tried: logging off and signing back in, uninstalling and reinstalling the app (version 2.35), rebooting my phone, turning my phone off and seeking internet advice. I am using a OnePlus, Cyanogen OS version 13.1.2
So far nothing has changed, still cannot use the GPS to track my exercise. It's very frustrating 😞
Thank you for any further help.

@Photocrazygirl - Is the OnePlus Cyanogen on the Supported Devices list? If so, have you contacted Fitbit Support about this problem?

Yes, the Oneplus One is on the list of supported devices and I've been happily using the app since June without any issues. I can only locate a phone number for support no email and honestly, I thought this forum was for Fitbit support, clearly a mistake, my bad. Does anyone have an email for support? My job and their hours of availability for accepting calls do not jive.
Thank you for pointing me in the correct direction 🙂

Hi,

I went to account and searched for advanced settings but do not have the
option anywhere to add the custom activities I created on the desktop
site.when I select the exercise icon it now crashes the app entirely.
Not sure if the phone apps are varying between phones, but I am on a droid
turbo 2 Android version 6.
When did the dashboard get updated? Can I revert to the previous app to
regain the lost features?

I've reviewed older posts on this same issue to no avail. I first noted this issue about four days back. I have attempted to resolve this issue by deleting the app and reinstalling. I'm on a OnePlus One running Android 6.0.1 and Fitbit version 2.36.

Any info is greatly appreciated.

Please help. Running Fitbit App v2.36. Has previously worked fine but when clicking the exercise tile the while app immediately crashes.
Have uninstalled then reinstalled software. Cleared cache. Disabled internet connectivity. Still the same. So frustrated I'm about to return the Charge HR as it's useless without this one function.

@Photocrazygirl @paintbetty To clarify, are you still experiencing this crash on the latest version of the Fitbit app for Android, version 2.36? If so, can you please detail how to recreate the crash on your mobile device and also provide a screenshot of the error message when it crashes?

@LadyD626 Can you please take a screenshot of any error messages you receive when the app crashes?

@Photocrazygirl @paintbetty @LadyD626 @Aikijim Can you please provide the following information in order to take a deeper dive into your experience:

  • What mobile device are you using?
  • What Android OS version are you running (click on this link from your Android web browser to find out)
  • What version of the Fitbit app are you currently running?

Hey all, I am still experiencing this. I've done the following:
Contacted fitbit support, the most recent contact from them is, "our engineering team is still working on the issue. Thank you for your patience, sincerely Jorge and the fitbit team." This was on Oct 25.
I am using a OnePlus One (listed as a supported device), running Cyanogen 6.0.1, using a Charge HR running firmware 18.122, and the Fitbit app is version 2.36. Since this issue began I have: restarted my phone, uninstalled the app and reinstalled it, cleared the cache (for the app and the phone), cleared the data from the app, I've reset the location settings in both the phone and the app and force quit the app. Nothing has changed, app still quits when I touch the Track exercise tile.
Honestly, I am excited that others are having this issue as well because when I searched for possible causes and solutions, both OnePlus and Fitbit, the last thread of this issue was over a year ago. I'd like to welcome you all to my new little community of app crashers! Hopefully this issue can get resolved and we can all get back to happily tracking our exercises 🙂

I get the same dialogue box. Sometimes I report sometimes not; I try to trwfk my exercise everyday so it gets tedious to keep reporting.

The crash occurs every time I click on "Track your Exercise" in the main dashboard.
Fitbit app v2.36
Running Android v6.01 marshmallow

The app crashes and posts:
Unfortunately, Fitbit has stopped. Options are OK or Report.
All other functions of the dashboard work, but NOT the exercise tile.
