I've had an issue for a few months now where my logged food doesnt accurately show up on the main screen icon, and instead have to open the full food log to view my calories.
Starting yesterday, the food log is not displaying my calories at all after adding them. Hours later, they might show up, along with all my other attempts to log my food. It's been a mess, and I've had to resort to just writing it all down.
Customer Support told me to log out, restart my phone, log back in, and try logging. That didn't work. Then they said to uninstall the app and reinstall the app. That didn't work either. I'm still having this issue today, and it's quite frustrating because it's like the main thing I use this app for.
Is this some bug that just needs addressed in an update? My app is up to date, having an update done two days ago. Anyone else having this issue?
Edit: I would like to add that this only seems to affect the quick calories input. Any specific measured food I add seems to show right up, but since I use quick calories throughout most of the day, I cant accurately track my food anymore.

I got an update to 3.62 so did it. Still the same. So I logged out of both the app and website, logged back in and all my food data for June was gone. I added the missing food for today and, and it appears to be working, food is showing up in both app and website.
Let's see what happens though.

I haven't visited the forum since April and I CANNOT believe this calorie input problem is STILL happening to everyone.
To prevent my fitbit being rendered as useless as a paperweight I've been using it to keep track of my heart rate, but now this week my phone keeps getting these stupid notifications about the pedometer and how I should 'unpair', even though the app shouldn't even be using my phone's pedometer in the first place. I can't figure out how to stop this, I'm so completely done with this crap.
This device is going in the garbage, and I'll be recommending everyone stay far away from Fitbit. What a disgrace.

I spoke too soon. I just added lunch and it's only showing on the food screen, not the main dashboard. So back where I started, minus June's data.

some tricks or workarounds i apply:
- add all the food to one meal time to see the total kcal per day -> this can help you see when the total kcal per day in the summary are not correct
- if you need to add a new product/meal, do it from on the website -> it usually syncs quite quickly so as soon as you add it there (it's pain in the **ahem** because the dashboard doesn't have a user-friendly mobile version....), you can search for it in your mobile app and register how much you ate
- if you plan to reinstall the app, clean the storage, etc., first take the note somewhere (paper works fine :D) at least of the total kcal from the days when it was not registered correctly (i do it by comparing the register in the windows desktop/browser dashboard). If after the reinstallation any of your data disappeared, you can at least manually add the total per day as quick calories and remove any single product that was added that day (to keep the correct total). This is to reduce damage, but if you care a lot about macros, this is not going to work.
btw., somebody from admins please READ and mark the post by @MichaelBoehnke from 06-28-2022 07:22 - edited 06-28-2022 07:43 on page 32 as the best reply, because everyone goes to the one by @LizzyFitbit instead of reading the real solution..
btw2, has anyone tried catching fitbit's attention on social media? maybe they start caring if we make enough noise..?

Quick update: I've tested the new version 3.6.2 and it still shows the same bug as the one I've documented for version 3.59.1 🙄 cc @LizzyFitbit

Honestly, I'm just using a different app now that is far better for food & macro logging then fitbit has ever been. It'll cost £2 a month after the free trial but seems well worth it after a few days of use.

Yea, I'm totally over it. I took of my fitbit and just chucked it today. I also deleted the app from my phone. Life it too short to deal w/ that kind of frustration. I am just going to track using my fitness pal, all I care about is total carbs, and MFP shines in that area. FitBit could never get the whole total carbs thing right anyhow. I am glad to be free of the device. The minute I took it off, I felt less stress in my life.

Apparently, he's too busy investing in Crypto to give a good **ahem**. This is bordering on ridiculous. Hey @LizzyFitbit Where do we put in for refunds? I didn't buy these Fitbits for my family simply to track steps alone - it's a waste of money as far as I'm concerned.

I finally got an update for the first time since all this started. My phone just updated from 3.59.1 to 3.62. Immediately, I went to check two things.
Firstly, I can confirm that I can now track food and it syncs with the servers/dashboard. It appears that the app is no longer trying to sync the bad custom food record with the server. Whether this is simply an artifact of updating to the next version, or if Fitbit actually did something here, I don't really know. Also, whether others will have a similar experience, I can't say either. I did remove the bad custom food from my device prior to the update.
Secondly (and this is the very frustrating & unfortunate part), what we've identified here in previous posts as the core issue with the custom foods, has most definitely NOT been resolved with this update. The moment you attempt to create a custom food directly from the app, you once again can not log any foods. So at this point custom foods should still be created on the web dashboard, and synced down to your device in order to use them. Highly inconvenient, but the only workaround anyone knows of for now.

@LizzyFitbit What in the world is going on? Any updates, anything??? We've all been very patient and have even had users basically fix the problem for your tech team. I understand mods have no control over this issue but goodness. You guys have to let them know there's a rather large amount of us who are paying for your companies premium and are unable to USE the products? For TWO MONTHS? Seriously? Fitbit is actively losing customers in this thread.

I too got the update today. When I tried to add a food into the Fitbit app on my T-Mobile phone, the current total still didn't appear causing me to go to the App on my computer in order to add it. I thought they would've resolved this error by this update. The people behind this product need to get this fixed.

Fitbit messed it up and should fix it or undo their update. My data should not suffer for their inability to properly update. After 6 years, I am considering changing too. It is as if they are trying to force us to buy the newer version since the old version no longer works through no fault of our own.
Tired of it. My "too many" calorie days show up more correct/often than my "good" days. No helping incourage me to keep trying to improve.

"trying to force us to buy the newer version since the old version no longer works"
The funny thing is that there's only one app, so these problems should affect all devices which depend on the app. I was seriously considering to purchase the Charge 5. This continuing level of unprofessional software development/testing and customer communication let's me rethink this idea.

It's actually worse than before. At least the total calories were given on the food page, now I have to add them up myself.
Strangely the fat/carb/protein ratio is still correct.

Yep, I just checked and I am also on 3.62 now, but because I did not delete any of my custom foods my calorie display is still borked.
