Android Fitbit app not tracking food and calories intake

I've had an issue for a few months now where my logged food doesnt accurately show up on the main screen icon, and instead have to open the full food log to view my calories.

Starting yesterday, the food log is not displaying my calories at all after adding them. Hours later, they might show up, along with all my other attempts to log my food. It's been a mess, and I've had to resort to just writing it all down.

Customer Support told me to log out, restart my phone, log back in, and try logging. That didn't work. Then they said to uninstall the app and reinstall the app. That didn't work either. I'm still having this issue today, and it's quite frustrating because it's like the main thing I use this app for.

Is this some bug that just needs addressed in an update? My app is up to date, having an update done two days ago. Anyone else having this issue?

Edit: I would like to add that this only seems to affect the quick calories input. Any specific measured food I add seems to show right up, but since I use quick calories throughout most of the day, I cant accurately track my food anymore.

I am going to add that as of the 6/7 update my calories do not count at all. The "fix" is worse than the bug.

A little more to add. I tried another log out/restart/log on and now all calorie data has been wiped out back to May 19th!!!  What the heck is going on???

Yes a member said don’t uninstall and install

Yes current "fix" on 6/7 deleted ALL of my calorie data back to May 19th. (0.o) Support keeps telling me to do the same things over and over. SO frustrated!!!

I Uninstalled and reinstalled  as advised, after jumping through the regular hoops. Food log now deleted back to May 19 ( this was when my Inspire 2 and Android phone first started having issues with calorie dashboard) UGH.

"Fix"made mine worse, as well. Just gonna comment, the update on 6/7 made the situation worse. Then Support suggested an uninstall/ reinstall that wiped out calorie data for the past month. Looking forward to some good news...

Hey guys, I entered a bunch of custom foods into my app, and began tracking everything I ate daily.

My fitbit food tracking was working perfect, as far I could see, except for a minor detail...

I noticed "recent foods" was not populating so I searched the help forums for answers. The common suggestion was "restart your device, log out, log back in".. So I logged out and logged back in... And bam, all my food logs and custom foods are gone.

I contacted support, who told me to Uninstall the app while chatting with him (which makes no sense, because how could chat with someone when you Uninstall the app you're chatting on? Lol). The support agent gave me a case number.

Anyways, I Uninstalled, reinstalled, and I'm food data is still gone (and yes the support chat session terminated). Also, when I checked my data export, no food data was there.

You guys may have a bug with your app / client not syncing with your servers.

I imagine somewhere in your server logs you can see I entered food data. I want you to restore my logs and custom data. It sucks investing lots of time, and being stoked about a feature, and then having your support forums recommendation of logging out of the app make me lose my data.. And my open issue of "recent food" is still unsolved. Anyways, just wanted to report this. I want this issue fixed. Looks like a lot of people do.

I also gave the app 1 star on the Play store and reported publicly about the issue. I'll remove the 1 star review and change it to a 4 or 5 star review if you guys can fix this bug.. It's heartbreaking. Thank you

They told me to do that too and I lost all of my custom foods (which I
create a lot). I also lost everything I'd entered after I entered a food
I'd created. They told me it would repopulate because it was still
there...it was not. It never came back. So now I just enter them as quick
calories and use another app to accurately track my calories. It's very
frustrating to not be able to use the app properly for the last couple of
months.... There are no answers, just more complaints.

What is the update people are mentioning here? Are you on iOS or Android?

When I look in the google play store, the last update is from May 19 - which is about the time things started going really haywire. I haven't seen any fixes or additional updates.

These may be related problems: The dashboard food log on the desktop app does not seem to be exchanging with my phone, including my list of favorite foods / custom foods. The "frequent" and "recent" food lists also do not seem to update with new entries. (As has been noted in feature requests, the lists are too short https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Feature-Suggestions/Increase-the-size-of-Frequent-and-Recent-food-li....)

The food tracking element of the app could benefit from an overhaul.

Same. Update has not fixed this issue that's been going on weeks now. Super frustrating.

My last update was also May 19th.  I wasn't actively logging food until June 6,2022.  It worked fine on the 6th and 7th and stopped yesterday, June 8th.  Issue persists today.

I am on android.

my food and nutritional values can be seen on the details page, but not the main screen of the app, nor the Cal in Vs Out bar graph on the details page.

I also checked the fitbit website.  None of the food/calories from June 8 or 9th have made it to the site.

After seemingly solving the issue last week with an app reinstall,
yesterday it started again with the inflated macro numbers and not showing
up in the bar graph and/or main food screen. I have found if I log food on
the website dashboard, it will show up in the app, but not vice versa.
Very frustrating as I have been using this for over five years. This has
happened momentarily in the past but not as often and egregiously as it has
been of late. Unacceptable Fitbit! If you will not or cannot fix it, just
let us know so we can make other arrangements.

I've had the same problem. For a few weeks there has been a delay of hours before quick calories actually shows up, but as of yesterday afternoon it's just stopped entirely. If I go in I can see the calories, but on the dashboard both on my phone app, and PC it just says zero calories logged, really frustrating!

The same. I've tried re installing and that has actually made it worse! Seems to be quite a few people complaining... Are fitbit even listening. They've given me a trial of premium if they can't be bothered fixing this I'm definitely out!

Reinstalling would be the worst thing you could do right now. If you
contact the customer support, they'll ask you to try that but don't listen.
They just have to have you do so before they escalate the issue. We all
know by now that they can't solve this particular issue so don't bother
contacting them.

So when I enter my food, I can see the nutrition info on my phone, but it doesn't show the total count in the graph, nor does it show any food being logged in the desktop version when I login. Any help would be appreciated. I've tried turning it off and back on, logging in and out, not sure what else I can do.
