So the Fitbit app on my phone logs most runs and walks twice. I say most, it doesn't every time but it's probably like 9 times out of 10. And the duplicates aren't quite the same, one will be slightly longer with a few extra steps. If I delete one of them (I usually pick the longer one as I know how long I've been and it's times are too long) it deletes all GPS related data for the other one too so anything like pace, route etc all go.
I also have Strava syncing enabled - I don't record anything in Strava, I do it in FitBit and let FitBit sync to Strava. Weirdly, nothing ever gets duplicated in Strava.
I've recently got up to running 10km and when I've gotten back and tried to clean up the inevitable duplications it's lost all the useful data. It's maddening.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

There are too many variables there for me to fully understand, but do be aware that when you manually log an activity after-the-fact, it uses whatever parameters you input and disregards data that was actually recorded; it is as if Fitbit is assuming the reason you manually logged it is because you were not wearing the tracker during the workout.

Oops, I described that so badly. Apologies for that.
What I meant is that I press the + next to the little guy in the orange circle and then press the pink play circle.

Similar issue for me as well. Here is the situation.
I go for loop walk with the same starting and ending point.
Post exercise:
On the PC I find 2 versions of the Hike
I delete the one that has 0 elevation gained.
Do I need to use both the App and the Charge 4?
How do I get only one record with the elevation gain?
