Whenever I try to record a walk in the android app, it will instead start to record a run. How do I fix this?

I down loaded the update last night. Went for a walk this morning and it still has the same Run vice Walk issue.
App updated this morning.
Issue still present.
Recording Walk/Hike as Run (with the on screen notification, describing it as such).
We really need the ability to edit activity type after it's recorded in the app (as we can when an activity is auto-recognised by the fitbit)
Having exact same problem. Even if I use the + button to track activity and select "Walk" the App still records it as a run.
Using Charge 2 with Android app on Samsung Galaxy S7. Only started happening recently after an app update so all points to something in the app.
I agree with you. My charge 2 was accurately recording my walk as a walk not a run up until a few weeks ago.
Very disappointing.
Not impressed fitbit! Please get this sorted.
@SteveW86 you are describing exactly what the issue is.
@Ruth61 your Charge 2 will still accurately record walks as walks, however to do this you will want to use your Charge 2 to record your walk. This issue only happens when using the Fitbit App to record the walk. You are not using your Charge 2 to record the walk..
@KaetiM of course the uninstalling the app will help, your then going to install another copy of the app with this bug.
@NYA2019 before this bug, which has been indentified, can be fixed, the cause needs to be found. So yes it may take time to find the cause, then a fix is needed, and tea ing Blake sure that the fix doesn't add an other unforseen bug. Th n the update may be released..

Hi folks!
Just wanted to thank you all for your continued patience as our team works to identify a fix. I don't have any additional news to share out now, but I will be sure to keep you all in the loop.
In the meantime, you can still use your tracker or smartwatch to record walks using the exercise app.
@Rich_Laue Thanks for your assistance! I appreciate the help.

Best AnswerWhile we're waiting for a fix, I tried the recommended method to manually change "run" to "walk". The pencil icon does not exist for me.

For some reason it is only possible to edit it in the Windows 10 app. If you install that there is a pencil icon and you can change Run to Walk.
I personally can't believe they still have not fixed this bug. It's so easy to reproduce: track exercise on the app, choose walk, click start, look at the status, it immediately shows "tracking run". Every time. This only happened after an update to the app.
What are Fitbit doing? Is anyone actually looking into this? Give me the code and I will fix it.

My phone updated my Fitbit app last night. Went for a walk today and it still is recording Walks as Runs. Guess the update didn't fix the issue.
Also having issue with phone app - select "walk" to start walk session. On finishing walk session activity is recorded as "Run". Appears to coinside with the last update. I'm using Samsung S6 & Fitbit Ionic. Tried all suggested fixes mentioned in various posts with no succes.
