App 2.75 - broke my Versa notifications

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

2.75 finally fixed the crashes when accessing clock faces and apps on the Versa for me, but now I can no longer get my notifications. After messing with this for a while I (once again) gave up, uninstalled and went back to version 2.71 where everything still works...everything but connecting to my phone GPS that is - that hasn't worked since the last firmware update. - Moto G phone.

Hello @StarkRaven

Thanks for sharing your experience on the matter.

I'd like to recommend that you try to go through these troubleshooting steps on the latest version of the app. They should definitely help in getting your notifications to work.

Additionally, what Moto G phone do you have?

Look forward to your reply.

My Moto G is the original model. However, next week I am upgrading to a Moto e5 Cruise anyway. We will see if that works.

Hello @StarkRaven.

Please do keep me posted on how it goes.

I'd like to mention that the G5 is not currently on the supported devices list, meaning that we cannot guarantee that it will work correctly. There is a possibility that it will, however, as long as it fulfills the minimum requirements of being Android 4.4 o + and having Bluetooth 4.0.

Let me know if there is anything else I can help you with.

Thanks, yes the phone is not on the list but, to tell you the truth, that list doesn't seem to get updated too much with new phones. I had to go with the phone I wanted and will have to see how it works out. It is Android 8.0 and meets the Bluetooth specs.

I have had my Moto e5 Cruise for several days and have been testing the FitBit features that I use with it. What I have found using the older app version 2.71;

- sync still working (maybe better than with my old Moto G)

- notifications are working

- Connected to my GPS for a walk (something my Moto G hadn't been able to do for several months), however it seemed to lose the GPS connection part way through the exercise.

So why am I still version 2.71? I tried 2.75 and all of the above worked but what was broken was my apps that need data updates like the weather app. I could not get that to work in the newer 2.75 version. If I would go to the weather app in the FitBit app and try to click on the weather settings (gear icon) it would go to a white screen and do nothing. Same with my news app - it would not update the data. This still works in 2.71, though.

Thanks.

Hello @StarkRaven

Thanks for sharing your feedback on the matter.

If your phone is running Android 5.0 you could try the newest version of the app, 2.76 and give it a shot, perhaps that one works good for you.

Let me know if you have any questions I can help you with.
