Starting a couple of weeks ago, my Fitbit app stopped syncing over WiFi. I have to turn off WiFi and let it sync over my mobile data connection. As you can imagine, this is a little annoying.
I've been playing around with it, and as near as I can tell, no function of the app can connect over WiFi. All of my other apps are working fine. I've restarted the phone and reinstalled the app and it hasn't helped.
Anyone else have a similar issue?
My phone is a OnePlus 8 5G running Android 11

the Fitbit app. The app will connect and sync as long as I have WiFi turned
OFF on my phone. If WiFi is turned on, it just spins and eventually tells
me it is unable to update and that I need to make sure I have an internet
connection. It has done this to me in multiple states and my home over the
past few weeks, all in places where I know I have a good WiFi connection
(as in I can stream video, play games, check email, and search the net with
no issues).

@bsb898 do you have a VPN or some type of gateway with your WiFi?
Is it all Wifis or just your WiFi?

Hi @bsb898 - it would seem there is something special with the wifi you are using in conjunction with the phone which may have special security software.
Have a look at the options in No internet connection in case one of them has a bearing and also make sure the phone location is on [normally it will tell you if it isn't]

I assume you are referring to your app syncing with the Fitbit servers/service, and not your app syncing with your tracker (which uses bluetooth).
It does sound as if your mobile device has a proxy, VPN or other service, which is getting in the way of the connection.
