Audio playing will pause when Charge 3 moves away from phone

So a really annoying problem that has been frustrating me ever since I got my Fitbit (Charge 3, but irrelevant) is the fact that if I move away from my phone more than a few feet, any audio playing will pause. This is really annoying, as I will often be working and so not want my phone on me, so I'll leave it set down, as it streams audio via Bluetooth to a separate speaker. Sometimes only being more than 2 feet away from my phone is enough to pause the audio.

This is a unique issue to Fitbit, and is related to the Fitbit app and Android. The model Fitbit is irrelevant, as it my phone model or the audio app being used. In fact, others have complained about this issue as well to no avail:

https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Android-App/Pandora-pausing-when-I-walk-away-from-phone/td-p/3487459

So I am chiming in as yet another voice to plead for an option within the Fitbit Android app to disable this annoying feature.  So far the only solution I've found is to uninstall the Fitbit app when I want to play audio with my phone set down, and then re-install it afterwards. This is ridiculous and unacceptable.

Hi @sremick. It's nice to see you here in the Community Forums. I'm sorry for my delayed response.

Thanks for the information provided, as well for sharing the links where other users were talking about this issue. As you may know, a Fitbit device will pair/bond with your phone's Bluetooth to connect and transfer your information. The same happens with any other Bluetooth connection, such as computers, tablets or speakers. That being said, if you have the All day sync enabled or if the Fitbit app is running on the background, the Charge 3 will keep being connected to your phone and once you move with it on your wrist, you phone will adjust the connection so it can remain connected to your speaker but not to your Charge 3.

While this expected with any Bluetooth device, phone or connection, please open the Fitbit app, tap on the profile's account > Charge 3 > scroll down and disable the "All-day sync". Then close the Fitbit app from the open apps so it's not running on the background.

Give it a try and let me know how it goes.

Although I'm not keen on the loss of sync functionality caused by disabling that option, I tried it but audio still pauses if I move more than a few feet away from my phone.

So the stuff that your app is doing to pause playing audio when bluetooth connection to the Fitbit device is lost is unrelated to this option.
