Basic sleep data

For some reason I'm only getting the basic sleep data on the Alta HR. I've reset the app, I've uninstalled I've and reinstalled installed it. It will read my heart rate all night long it's telling me it can't do the detailed sleep data. Customer service tls I'm wearing the device wrong even though it's 2 inches above my wrist and reads heart rate. What can we do to get this fixed. It's been almost a year. The only reason I updated to tbe hr is for the sleep data.

Hello @Mrc1685 first let's see what the Fitbit app says.

  • Tap on your sleep tile
  • Tap on a sleep record in question
  • Look below the graph,  Fitbit should have a comment about why your not seeing sleep stages

What does Fitbit say?

Like Fitbit customer support it tells me I'm wearing it wrong. I've never
changed how I worn the device and for the first three months everything
worked fine and fitbit did a system update and nothing worked after that.
I'm not the only one with the issue. If it wasn't reading my heart rate,
might believe that but since it's reading my heart rate all night long and
can get a resting heart rate something tells me it's a system issue.

I have the same problem. My watch worked for 8 months and now it's suddenly doesn't give me sleep data. It gives me detailed freaks out at every night before, and now it only gives me basic sleep data. I don't wear it any differently, I don't think there was an update before this happened, but now for over a week I haven't gotten detailed sleep data.

For sleep stages it is important to allow at least 3 hours and hve a consistant heart rate reading..

As advised above, please look bellow the chart and see what excuse Fitbit gives.

I get about 8 hours of uninterrupted sleep every night, I wear the band
tightly, and haven't changed the way I wear it.

The band should be lose enough to easily fit a finger behind it. I easily slip 2 fingers and still get stages.

Try resetting after charging. The little button on the charger. I always get basic now after I charge the fitbit. It I reset the device I get detailed. Its a software problem.
