The last weeks my Samsung S8+ has started to use a lot of battery when idle. The "Device idle" process was always on top with battery usage and my phone could use around 15% of the battery overnight. (7 hours idle). It used to be 3-4%.
The last days I have disable "All day sync", "Notifications" and "background syncing" in the fitbit app and my phone is back to normal with only 3-4% battery usage overnight.
I can not say for certain, but it seems to me that something changed with the fitbit app. It looks to be using more idle battery now.

Hi there @stigvi, good to see you one more time in the Fitbit Community! I was reading your post and I can relate your issue with an issue that has been reported before here.
Please take look to the latest update about battery draining and notification issues with Galaxy S8 here on this post: Battery drain/Notifications - Samsung Galaxy S8/S8+.
Hope this helps and let me know if you have additional questions.

It has not always been this. I got my Samsung S8 in june and everthing was fine until a few weeks ago. I am not sure when it happened, but it is more than two weeks ago and less than 1,5-2 months. There has been no updates from Samsung in this period. The battery consumption on my wife's Samsung S7 also rised from 3-4% pr night to 15-20% and is now back to 3-4% after background syncronization in the fitbit app is turned off.

Hi there @stigvi, thank you for the additional details. In this case the app is not the caused of battery drain on your wife's phone. Note that this issue is being reported only for Galaxy S8 / S8+.
If the battery drains has increased with background sync, it is natural this will happened although there are other option that may increase the battery usage.
See you later and take care!
