I receive notifications that i have a call on my alta device but it says it is user unknown despite it being on my contacts and as a fitbit friend. My phone is a galaxy s7 and i have updated the alta to the latest firmware.

Hi there @SunsetRunner, welcome to the Fitbit Community! I've seen this issue in some other scenarios and for some users setting up the notifications from scratch has helped to address this issue.

  1. Unpair your tracker from your mobile device. You can unpair your tracker in your mobile device's Bluetooth settings. If you are unsure how to verify or change settings for your mobile device, refer to instructions provided by your device manufacturer. For most Android mobile devices, tap Settings > Bluetooth, find your tracker in the list of paired devices, and then tap Forget or Forget Device to unpair your tracker.
  2. Reboot your mobile device.
  3. In the Fitbit app, tap Allow notifications access and allow access to the Fitbit Notification Service, and then turn on call, text, or calendar notifications again. For more details about this procedure review this post in case you need some extra help.

Hope this helps, catch ya later until the next time.

Maybe this can solve your problems too. Check your phones sms settings. Its probably an issue with your phone sms app. On my galaxy s4 I had to choose MESSAGES, push the low left button below the screen, push SETTINGS, then choose NOTIFICATIONS and turn on PREVIEW MESSAGE. Now my messages shows me who sent it and the content. That means that my phone has to be able to show the message on top of the screen when I receive an sms. Hope this solves the problem

I have tried all of these fixes. I don't have "notifications" in the Fitbit app.

Hello @Dju, let me give you a warm welcome to the Fitbit Community! My apologies to not see your post earlier. I'm wondering how it goes so far? have you review if your phone is listed in the Compatible List?

If your phone is compatible perhaps setting up your tracker again will do the trick, but do not remover your tracker from the app. Just follow the regular process as if you were pairing a new device. Perhaps the following post will help you as a guide.

Give it a try and let me know if this steps were of your help.
