When I click on "weight" from the dashboard, under goal progress it says I've lost 19.7 pounds since April 2nd, but I got my fitbit on July 9th. Is there any way I can change my start date so that it is correct?

Aha - I found the answer above:
"Just found how to do it on the app too! Select account from the menu, then settings, then nutrition and body, then in the weight category select start date. Enjoy!"

Have you found a solution to this question for those for whom the process does not work? I've tried all of the above solutions and none of them work. I've also deleted my phone and ipad apps, zeroing out the fitbit to original settings and have finally determined the issue is clearly with the online site. I did the same thing you did, following the prompts to set up a new goal, but wish I hadn't. I can change the start date back, but it won't stick - even after atetempts at changing it on my ipad, iphone and PC. I've even tried changing my original weight to see if that helped. No.
This is driving me crazy because I'd like to see my progress from the my original start date, not the new goal date. I'm about ready to close out my account altogether and start over. REALLY don't want to do that.

Hi, I vould not find a way to do it from the website, only from the app. But once I did it on the app, the website reflected the change: "Select account from the menu, then settings, then nutrition and body, then in the weight category select start date."

Thank you, Larajean! That is a correct process, but no matter the device, it refuses to reset the date and stay reset UNTIL I connect my devices to the internet. Once I connect to the internet, all devices go back to the current goal. <sad>. I'm thinking some data are corrupt at the server. I'm going to try deleting all of my weight data on the PC - up to the server - and then see opinions the iPhone will repopulate the server data with the correct info. Who knows! 😜

Caring friends... I'm guessing my issue is unique and probably not helpful to the forum. Still, I have resolved the issue. I made certain that my iPad and iPhone were disconnected from the internet so they would not update. I then made the date changes to my iPhone which retained the data I entered. I then went to the Fitbit website and deleted every record of weight from every day since I got the device. (It will not let you delete the first date.)
Once I deleted the Fitbit website weight and fat data, I reconnected my iPhone to the internet in hopes of forcing the website to update its information from there. It did not. As I still had a record of all of my weight information on my iPad - still not connected to the internet - I decided that I could manually re-enter all of my data onto the server by hand, but as I'd forced the system finally to accept my initial date, weight and fat content - my original goal in the first place - I was satisfied. Thank you for your help and interest!

When I go to this area it keeps putting it back on today automatically. It will not let me manually change the date. Any other ideas??

OK I had the same problem as everyone else.
To solve this on the Ipad I went to settings - nutrtion and body goals and changed both date *and* the strtaing weight (ie the weight that I already had recorded on that date).
That does seem to have stuck.

Thanks MarkElliot!!! By changing both the start date and start weight, the changes remained.

The change date back to the original start on nutrition works, but when I sync the next day or charge, it reverts back to the recent date and weight at goal change

You have to change both the date and starting weight.

@Pjuren Were you able to give the suggestion made by @MarkElliot here a try yet? That should get you the results you're looking for. Let us know if that works.

As I said, I can change the date and weight back to original values, and it takes.
However after subsequent sync sync or charge, it resets to the most recent values set when it encouraged me to up my goals.
Thus instead of 64 lbs lost, it shows 8 lbs lost. Unless I keep resetting it every time.

Thanks for posting this! I have no idea how I kept missing that there was an editable start date, and I've been so bummed my app showed a date that wasn't true. Appreciate it! So easy!!!

It looks like the app has been updated since this forum. I can't find the 'change start date' option anymore. I've checked both web and app. How do you change your start date?

I found it. There's only a start date from the lose option. Not when you state you wanna maintain.
