Can I change my weight loss start date?

When I click on "weight" from the dashboard, under goal progress it says I've lost 19.7 pounds since April 2nd, but I got my fitbit on July 9th.  Is there any way I can change my start date so that it is correct?

Thanks MarkElliot!!! I couldn't find the setting anywhere - so thanks for posting this easy fix. It's so much more encouraging now to see the full amount I've lost since I started my journey.

MarkElliot, you are a hero!!

It is really annoying how difficult fitbit makes this.  It was really hard to track down that specific setting!

I was able to see my weight loss but it has now disapeared. If I adjust it on the app it doesn't work and I can't find the date. Can anybody help?

On my Charge 2 app, I can change the date as per the above instructions but when I exist the app doesn't save the change.

Same for me.  I can’t believe how much time I’ve spent trying to figure this out.

I don’t find anywhere to change any dates or starting weight. Can someone say exactly where they found where to change it? Under what category? It’s not under my personal settings.

I had to do it a few times and i also changed it on the website under settings. Click on the current start date and sure to click ok button which i find almost unnoticable

I tried several times on both the app and online dash. After I signed out of the online dash and closed and restarted the app, I was able to get the date I wanted to save, as others have suggested under Account, then Nutrition & body settings.

It won’t let me save the right date it keeps going back to the old date both on the app and on the website 😞

any suggestions?

I finally found the Nutrition & Body settings on the phone app. It was not on the dashboard or through the dashboard, but only on the app.

I found it tried to change the weight on the day I wanted it to start from to the weight on the old date and I had to switch it back.  I'm hoping it saves and doesn't reset.

Thank you!

I don’t see a field for start date and the starting weight changed to today and I want it to start on 1/7. I still don’t know how to change the start date. What am I doing wrong? Any help would be appreciated.

The only way I've found to change the weight loss start date (& have it remain as such) is on the www.fitbit.com site. Go to dashboard, hover over the food tile (the one with the plate, fork, knife) and select "See More". Go to the "food plan" tile and select the arrow to the right of that tile and scroll through until you see "Plan Summary". Select "Edit Plan". Find the line that says "Your starting weight was x lbs and was set on Mon Date, Year". Select the edit link located adjacent to that line. Enter the date you want to reflect your start date. Be sure that date has a weight logged (or enter your starting weight). Click save. You may need to log out / in and synch your phone app with your Fitbit device. Hope this helps.

I tried to do all of the things posted above and none of them worked until I got the post from reNewOrleans. That one finally worked. Thank you, reNewOrleans! I need to see that progress!

Yes.. I too  tried to do all of the things posted above and none of them worked until I did what reNewOrleans said.  Why do they bury this so deep. Thank you!

I’ve tried that about 100 times and it won’t stick. Very frustrating. On the FitBit my joining date is 7/22/14 but now since I changed my goal it changed the goal begin date to March 11, 2018.

I was also frustrated because it just wasn't obvious to me and it felt like I was searching for a needle in a haystack when the needle may/may not exist! There are a number of places you can change the starting date and the starting weight, but I could only find one place where it actually "stuck". Sorry my documented steps didn't help. Just some silly questions based on the troubles I had...

- are you logged in to www.fitbit.com on a Windows PC (I don't have a MAC so couldn't test it there)? It wouldn't work for me when I tried changing it on my iphone, but using the Chrome browser on a PC worked for me.

- on the dashboard, after you've logged in to www.fitbit.com on a PC browser, are you clicking on the plate/knife/fork icon or the scale icon? I was tempted to click on the scale but that messed up my start date and start weight every time.
