Can I change my weight loss start date?

When I click on "weight" from the dashboard, under goal progress it says I've lost 19.7 pounds since April 2nd, but I got my fitbit on July 9th.  Is there any way I can change my start date so that it is correct?

THANK YOU!!!  I had looked in every section that made sense to me and couldn't find where to change my start date.  It baffles me that overtime I set a new goal (wow! I could do a little more) my start date changes instead of accumulates.  And the help section on this app is no help. So thankful for the boards.

By the way, I have a Mac and your instructions worked for me!

I just saved the changes while in airplane mode and the website automatically updated with the correct info. AIRPLANE MODE SAVES THE DAY.

On the desktop app, go to the "Food" page. In the "Food Plan" box, click the right arrow to the  "Plan Summary" box. Click "Edit Plan", then click "Edit" to change your starting date and/or weight.

Yay! Finally worked. I started hating this app

So glad this helped someone...I was going crazy too, til I accidentally came across the solution. Still  haven't found the "Nutrition and Body" setting.

After hitting the profile icon in the top right hand corner on dashboard-Scroll down past fitness goals in color to goals in black and white. Long list of items and you will find it.

Thank you! Have been struggling with this for a week and yours is the only way that worked!

There must be multiple versions of the desktop app, because I don't have that link no matter how I approach the page! It's crazy.

When I tried to follow the advice given here, the start date ended up changing to today, which made my problem even worse. I don't see anywhere or any way to manually change the start date. Where is everyone else seeing this?

If you switch your phone to airplane mode and change it, then back out of
the app after saving--when you turn airplane mode off the changes are
saved in the app.

Did you follow this or earlier directions?

"On the desktop app, go to the "Food" page. In the "Food Plan" box, click the right arrow to the  "Plan Summary" box. Click "Edit Plan", then click "Edit" to change your starting date and/or weight."

I found the nutrition and body setting under goals. Then had to click on weight before it would let me change the start date.

How though? I can't find using the ios app or online

Fitbit does not make this easy to find. If you go to your food page, go to
the "food plan" box and click the gray right arrow twice, to get to "plan
summary". Click "edit plan" in the lower right corner.
The word "edit" is a blue hot link next to your original start date. Here's
where you do it! Good luck!

Account-my iPhone places little card icon upper right hand corner
Scroll down to bottom of page
NUTRITION AND BODY
click on and change all your data under WEIGHT
😊

Larajean, do you mean on the iPhone app? Because under Account, I see "Nutrition & Body" under Goals, not Settings. And if I do it under Goals, I need to re-enter my weight as it was on my starting date because if I don't it resets my starting weight to today's weight. Maybe Fitbit has changed the app?

Turn airplane mode on to make any changes. if you're connected to internet
or wifi or LTE or 4G/5G it won't update the changes. you need to
essentially turn off all connectivity that would shut down any backward in
time changes.

Thanks, AmberF623. Looks like it changed successfully without airplane mode as long as I changed both the starting date and starting weight on the app. It was a bit difficult to figure out how to do that, tho! 🙂

Hello everyone!

Thanks for sharing your experience and situation with everyone.

Glad to see that everyone seems to have been able to find the proper settings to change the starting date on your Fitbit apps.

If you have the time, maybe you could visit one of our Discussion boards. Lots of different topics to talk about in there.

Please let me know if there are any questions I can help you with.

That works because you're bringing the date forward. You try putting it back. It doesn't work. What if you gained weight, then started losing and wanted to reset your start date, to when your weight was at its highest? It just doesn't work. If you delete your goal and restart - it automatically sets the start date at today. And no matter how long I spend trying to reset to a past date, nothing works.
