Can't Sign In With Google

I moved my account a few days ago.

Today, I can't log in to the app (But I can to the dashboard on the web).

I click on sign in with Google. My Google ID shows up, then I get:

Something went wrong - Please Try again.

I have tried it for hours.

I did all the recommendations in other threads (Restart phone, clear cache, reinstall app, vpn, etc.) to no avail.

Version 3.83.1.1.fitbit-mobile-38346051

Android Version 13

Latest updates for both.

I read about a version 3.84 being available, but it is not on the play store.

Thanks

Turning off wifi worked for a few hours but now I can't sync over data either.  Anyone else?

I am having the same issue since switching to Google. I tried the same things with no luck.  Frustrating.

I called support for help with the same issue and they advised me to turn off Wi-Fi and try to set things up over a mobile data connection and that worked for me. Hope that helps.

This worked for me too!  Thank you for providing this work around!

I am an android developer, so took a look at the loggs on my device, seems it's getting

The urls had the correct dates, but the forum would not allow me to post them.

Caused by: com.fitbit.httpcore.exceptions.ServerCommunicationException: Rpc Error [URL https://android-cdn-api.fitbit.com/2/user/-/fitbit-home/tile/heart_rate.json?date=YYYY-MM-DD]

java.lang.RuntimeException: com.fitbit.httpcore.exceptions.ServerCommunicationException: Rpc Error [URL https://android-cdn-api.fitbit.com/2/user/-/fitbit-home/tile/heart_rate.json?date=YYYY-MM-DD]

On cell network when it works:

*** Caused by: jID: UNAVAILABLE: The service is currently unavailable

On Wifi when it does not work:

*** Caused by: jID: UNAVAILABLE: 503:Service Unavailable

Not sure what makes the app work on cell data but not wifi.

I struggled with adding an Ace 3 to my family, got that working and within 5-10 minutes this issue started on both devices.

Same here. I switched to my Google account… my wife did not. I’m locked out… her app access is fine. I contacted support… they’re looking into it, for what little that’s worth.

I’ll second this. App works with Wi-Fi off and Cell Data on… at least for the time being.

  • Mine is too. Thank you

doesn't work for long on wifi. I got about two minutes on cellular data alone and then it stopped working again. I tried cycling wifi and it's still not updating and back to the same error.

I cannot log into the app with my Gmail account. I have tried to uninstall and reinstall it but when I select my Gmail account it tells me "something went wrong"

Help!

I recently merged Fitbit and Google account, everything was working fine until yesterday. The app wasn't syncing with my watch...I uninstalled and reinstalled the app, turned off phone, and it started working this morning. I started happening again this afternoon so I deleted app, turned off phone and downloaded the app. I now can't login to app because when I try to login with google account I get a "something went wrong" error message and I cannot login the old way but I am able to access my account through google and on fitbit.com. What do I do?

That helped with login, but sync is still flakey.

I was having an issue where my Charge 5 wouldn't sync with my phone, and I ultimately tried uninstalling the app and reinstalling after restarting both my phone and my Charge 5 several times.

Now, the Fitbit app won't let me log into my account via Google login, and I get this error:

Every Fitbit user is having the same problem. It is hit and miss as to whether it sinks. I am currently looking at alternate watches. I have been a Fitbit user for years and once google took over, as far as I am concerned the watch is junk.

Same here, swapped from fitbit account to Google yesterday, issues all day so reinstalled app. Really wish I hadn't bothered to change 😕

Had this stupid error too. I should never have moved my account to a Google one, as soon as I did first the app started playing up on WiFi, then it started not working on data, then as a last ditch effort to fix things I signed out and now I can't sign back in again.

Did they even bother to test this before they started telling everyone to move to Google accounts?

Hey me too, happened to me the past few days. I switched to Google log in. No I'm screwed
