On the new app, on Android on a pixel 7.
The Edit Exercise panel allows me to properly edit Date, Start time and Duration, but the keyboard is not showing up when I try to update the Activity.

Ok I found a solution shared by someone on another thread! The historical data of exercise routines is still available and I was able to change the activity type for all my activities! There are a few steps but still it's better than nothing: 1. Tap anywhere in the « Exercise Days box ». This will bring up a screen titled « Exercise ». 2. In the top right hand corner of the exercise page there are three dots…tap on the three dots. 3. This will bring up a drop down box: select « Manage Data » 4. Scroll down to and select « Exercise Logs and GPS Tracking » 5. After the third paragraph on the resulting page you will see in blue uppercase text « REVIEW YOUR DATA « … tap on that and you'll see the detailed data in the old format! These steps were provided by SeniorS.

Hi Flou2023, Your step 4 does not work for me as I do not get an option that says Exercise Logs and GPS. I am on an Android phone, does that "fix" only work on Apple phones?

Yes, I believe that elsewhere in this thread someone said this only works with iOS. Android users are out of luck.

Not really logged any exercise since the update and I too can't change the exercise type. I would always set to workout when attending a gym class and then edit to the nearest type after but I can't do that now.
My app us up to date, I use android. Seems a lot of people having same issue.

Ohh maybe you're right. I forgot to specify that I'm using the app on an iPhone.

Many thanks - this works for me on iOS! Would be great if there was an easier way to do it like there used to be vs this roundabout method but I will take it for now!

I'd love to however this forum doesn't allow you to post a comment using the words I'd need to describe the process. They have a filtering setup and it dissalows discussion of the topic.
It's an easy process but this forum doesn't allow me to post the instructions. I had to use very vague language to get it past the filters.

Hi, same for me, cannot change the type of exercise on the Android app.
The only way is to go on the fitbit webbased app on a PC where you can rename the activity, but clearly it does not work on the android app as the keyboard does not show up when clicking in the activity box...
I have a samsung A22 with android13.

Hi, it is not easy to edit, you have to go to "Logbook" then scroll down to acces to the list of activities
And you can edit the activity with the "pen', and here change the name.

I’ve been a customer for years but I give up.
I’m moving on.
Just got my refund this morning. Fitbit and Google lost $450 today and a customer that has been buying their products for myself and family since gen1.
Outside of the obvious reason of being sold a defective product; I would have stayed in the ecosystem if we had any response from the Fitbit team, or Google on the matter. But instead, we have had only unprofessional, inattentive, and unresponsive forum moderators editing peoples posts because their feelings are hurt at angry customers.

Maybe I'm just misinformed, but I believe you still use Fitbit as the activity tracking app even with Pixel watches. This is a standard, run of the mill issue with poor product support.
edit
I literally just learned about Google fitness. WHY would they have pushed so hard into fitbit if they have their own solution? I purchased a Pixel Watch 2 and never once learned about Google Fitness, but instead had a dozen ads for Fitbit Premium. lol.
Additionally, looking at the recent reviews for Google Fitness, seems they use the same third rate, minimum wage developers for that trash software too. Maybe it's just time to avoid Google products.

I followed these steps but I encountered the same bug. When I hit REVIEW YOUR DATA, it brings me back to the same Edit Exercise screen which doesn't bring up a keyboard when I click on the exercise name.

I use a Samsung Galaxy S9 (Android v 10) and I do NOT get the keyboard to type in the edit exercise type in the latest version of the Fitbit app with the new user interface.
