On the new app, on Android on a pixel 7.

The Edit Exercise panel allows me to properly edit Date, Start time and Duration, but the keyboard is not showing up when I try to update the Activity.

FYI: this issue is not resolved yet,  the workaround on the app is for IOS only.   The other workaround that might work is to edit the exercise type using the web site.

Correct :hundred_points:, still no fix for Android users even with several updates being
sent in the months since thus bug occurred and editing on the website
doesn't even work as changes made will never save.

Hi, i confirm that i can change on the website and i can see these changes
on the android app

Not sure why this is marked as solved when the best answer ISN'T a solution and the bug is still happening now, 4 months later. I'm on Android and I can't edit an exercise either, which is extra annoying for users like me as I use a walking aid and my Fitbit ALWAYS auto recognises walking incorrectly. Now thanks to this bug I can't correct it!

This is more than just a technical issue, it's an accessibility one too. Come on Fitbit, it's been months!

The app won't recognize more than 1 exercise a day either. The app also gets the exercise wrong. For instance, when I am using a multi functional recumbent bike it reports that I am on an Elliptical Machine. In my opinion...... useless. Don"t expect them to fix this myriad of problemd either. They are trying to merge the Fitbit with the Pixel line.

Still waiting for an update. Cannot edit exercise type on Pixel 7. App shows Mountain Bike when I was using Snow Blower. All other fields work but not activity type.

Same bug here on Android and contrary to some for myself and many others
editing auto detected activities on the web site does not work as nothing
saves after you refresh to confirm.

At this point we will hsve over 5 months of potential incorrect activities
to manually correct when the bug is addressed.

I think that's true that auto detected workouts can't be edited in the current website.  You can edit manually created workouts once on the website (I do that all the time).   The other workaround that takes you to manage your data is only for IOs.  The old windows fitbit application doesn't work anymore since authorization model change (using Google acct to login instead of our old fitbit user acct).  I used to be able to edit exercises, start and stop times with the old windows app.

It's been four months since the posting and recognition of this issue. I have not seen an update for the app rollout, nor a statement that it is being worked on beyond it was escalated in September.

WOW, and yet another 25MB Android update pushed today for the Fitbit mobile
application and it still will not allow us to correct incorrectly auto
recognized exercises.

So, what are we to make of this after months go by and numerous updates fail to fix it.  Moderators say this issue has been escalated to the engineers who are working on it.  The moderators are lying, being told to say this?  The moderators don't know and are just making this up?  The engineers really are working on it, but can't figure it out?  No one is really putting any effort into fixing this, and they aren't working on it, even though they know it is an issue?  None of this inspires any confidence in the consumer.  Most people considering buying a Fitbit don't read these forums, so they don't know this.  You already bought one, they have your money, so they don't care about you.  It's bad for business to lose repeat customers, but maybe they figure it will be fixed eventually and you will forget about it when it's time to upgrade.  Money and profit are their number one priority, not building a good product.  Although I can't imagine that it would cost much to fix this along with the other updates they are doing.  Maybe management is just incompetent.  This is what happens when bean counters and not engineers run a company.  Everything is done to increase shareholder value, so investors and executives continue to get rich while the product suffers.  Gotta meet those quarterly expectations.  Short term thinking.  Eventually this catches up with you.  Better sell the company while you still can before the reputation brings the value down.

But Pixel uses Android, right? This is an Android problem where the keyboard doesn't show up. Doesn't matter what brand Android phone you use. Would think that would happen on a Pixel as well. Anyone have a Pixel that doesn't have this problem? Any idea why they stopped selling in other countries?

I have a Pixel and have the same issue as everyone else

We all have the issue because it is not fix yet.

They sold it to Google and are trying to merge the Fitbit line with the Pixel line. No long term expectations for me.

I have a Pixel. Pixels get Android updates before any other manufacturers.
This loss of function didn't come with an Android update, it came with a
Fitbit app update. In September.

When I worked in an industry that developed software for medical devices,
you compile a long list of bugs that are reported, you assign severity or
urgency of correcting the bug, and then the bug waits for its turn to get
corrected. Because the problem is only in the app, it probably is pretty
low urgency. That's the only thing I can suggest for you.

I have been able to open my Fitbit info. in a browser tab on the same
phone that's running the Fitbit app. The layout of information is
different, but I can change that generic "sport" that the watch auto
assigns, to "tennis," just as the app previously allowed, save it, and it
is almost instantly now back on the watch as "tennis."

Interesting.  I have been trying to change the activity using my computer going to my login using the Edge browser. I am able to edit the activities that have a pencil next to it, such as workout, but when I click "update", it reverts back to workout.  I tried it on my android phone using the Chrome browser, and the edit stayed.  So, I went to my computer and used the Chrome browser, and the edit was able to be saved again.  So, it appears that if you are trying to do this through the web, and not the app, you must use Google's browser.  I understand that this is a Fitbit app problem and not the Android operating system, but the problem is only on the Android version of the app, and not the Apple version, as apple users have been able to do this through the app.  Apparently, Fitbit prioritizes Apple users over Android?  Odd.  Guess the rest of us will just have to wait for them to fix this.  At least now I have a workaround.

For Apple users, there is a workaround when you go to manage data and you actually get to see the old UI and the data model in the old UI still works.  I think the problem is in the new UI the exercise list drop down is probably returning an empty list so there's no selection available so keyboard doesn't come up to let you select anything since there's nothing to select.
