On the new app, on Android on a pixel 7.

The Edit Exercise panel allows me to properly edit Date, Start time and Duration, but the keyboard is not showing up when I try to update the Activity.

It’s the arm movement. The Fitbit thinks that indoor rowing is swimming too. Similar confusion with bicycling vs elliptical. Just need to delete the incorrect exercise and put in the correct exercise.

You escalated this 10 months ago - any chance of an update and ETA to have the app working in a useful manner again?

Best Answer

Unfortunately I have given up with getting any response or improvement from Fitbit software.

I have not found a solution, does it happen to folks in Premium, or just us
using basic (free) app?
Best Answer

Nope, I can’t edit exercise details and I pay for Premium

Best Answer
Nope….no updates, no feedback. Just a bundle of other comments attached to
this as more features have been removed and/or stopped working.

Google have now shown consistent disdain for Fitbit and its community.
Fitbit will disappear entirely over the next couple of years and any
remnants absorbed into a different brand/design.

You’re right, it’s kinda sad. I’ve loved using fitbits for about 6 years now; so many features are perfect for me.

Yes I also noticed this problem after the last update.  I use an iPhone 13.  It does not allow editing of the exercise type anymore.  It is a real nuisance.  I don’t know why they keep removing functionality.  I find it very annoying.  Also doesn’t really pick up the correct length of time.  I am constantly having to update the time after it only picked up 10 to 20 minutes of an hour long exercise session.   Like yesterday I stacked firewood for I don’t know how long.  Hard physical work, and it recorded it as a 10 minute walk?!  And I can’t change it.  The other day I did a martial arts style workout for 55 minutes, it recorded 35 minutes of aerobic workout, again I can’t change the exercise type but I guess it’s better than the “walking” it seems to record for most exercises these days, including an intense aqua fitness class a while back that it again only recorded half of as “walking”.  I can’t actually start the exercise on my device (Charge 4) while I’m in the pool, water droplets stop the screen working. So frustrating.  The app actually used to work properly.

I don’t know how some people are saying they’re able to change the exercise type.  Is this actually real, are they getting preferential treatment, or did they just forget to update?

@petitmiam there used to be a couple of work arounds that could be used but every update they do removes every work around we find to edit activity. Every time I mow my yard it records it as outdoor bike. It's clear they don't want us to be able to edit our activity for some reason. It's very frustrating and I am changing to a new fitness tracker because of it.

It's amazing how many post we actually see considering how many are blocked

do you know which one you’ll switch to?

Well if they monitor for that, you would think they would monitor for other things on this thread and communicate with customers. Companies abdicating their customer service responsibilities and expecting user forums to do all their work for them is horribly in fashion.

I switched to a Samsung watch 6 a d love it. I agree completely and have had the same happen to me over the years more
times than I can count lol.

I am resigned to enter my activities manually. At least, the program will automatically delete the inaccurate automatic entry if I didn’t put in the correct activity fast enough and I enter the correct one using the same start and stop times.

I've had the same issue for so long. It's a basic piece of functionality Fitbit used to have. And it doesn't look like it's ever coming back.

Best Answer
That's exactly what I did, however just another similar brand and it's
worked great for me.

What are you using now?
Best Answer

Charge 6 with the app on an iphone SE

Best Answer
