On the new app, on Android on a pixel 7.

The Edit Exercise panel allows me to properly edit Date, Start time and Duration, but the keyboard is not showing up when I try to update the Activity.

They to do away with our fitbit watches, and the fitbit app.  I think that's why they are removing features.

This article states what I just said.  I'm assuming the moderator will remove my post, but maybe a few can read it.

This issue is still persisting, using an Inspire 3 band and v.4.23 on Android 14. I can now type the Activity* I want to edit, and pick the new one from the drop down list - but when I press save it reverts back to the "Elliptical Auto"!! Ditto for trying to change duration, start time, or # calories burnt

Best Answer
Yes! They should redesign the interface so we don't even see the option.
But WHY would they remove this feature?!? It seems basic to me, you made an
error, you correct/edit it!
Best Answer

I'd much prefer the feature to be fixed! I want to have semi accurate sports data from my exercise, as that was the entire point of me buying the Fitbit in the first place

Hello @MattPS @Amywalks941

There was a partial fix to this issue that allowed us to do some workout editing. However, the issue has resurfaced.

The issue has been escalated and the team is working on a fix. Unfortunately, there isn't a timeline for the rollout of the fix.

@RiekoC Where did you hear this: "team is working on a fix"

My self and another user have both chatted with support in the last week and they've indicated that fitbit no longer supports editing workouts that have been tracked by a Fitbit device. So what issue are they working to fix?

Best Answer

Well that just seems ridiculous... But thanks for the information! Did they say anything else about how we are meant to track other types of workout besides runs?

Best Answer
There are smart watches, and there are trackers. I don't care if there are
no more Fitbit Smart watches. I just want a solid tracker that functions AS
I BOUGHT IT, not as they progressively crippled it.

Hello @Vonny3492

A member of the Fitbit support team, a Google employee, confirmed that the bug affecting the ability to edit a completed workout in the Fitbit app was escalated & that the team is working on fix.

That's all that I can share for now.

Did "support" indicate that the interface was going to be updated to take
away what looks and feels like an option? Shouldn't Fitbit communicate this
clearly in some way? It's frustrating and poor customer service to ignore
complaints.
Best Answer

I'm so frustrated because of this not being able to change the name. Now I can't even access all the workout names I had before. Please fix!

Thanks for advising me of this .. you are indeed correct. Developing and Testing procedures really need to be looked at. Things work correctly for a short time and then are undone and then have different issues each time!

Thought maybe, just maybe, things had got better and logged 3 weight
sessions from this week on the anpp…all 3 have been deleted.

This app is now epically rubbish for tracking exercise. I am honestly now
excited about the tracker breaking so I can move brands…FitBit and Google
are sh*te and justify their app decisions on lies and BS.

Customer services, if you call them, will tell you enough to get you off
the phone with promises of things that will happen…knowing full well that
they will never speak to you again so will never know your
frustrations/anger at their lies.

In 12 months - not one reply from the FitBit community manager on ANY
comment. Only action has been to delete posts of those naming competition
brands that people can use that work…they don’t care, never have and never
will. Just keep paying for premium services which is akin to self abuse.

Long Long ago Rodrigo from FitBit used to try and interact with us on here
and appears to have given up. I can't blame him, the situation is an
embarrassment.

@agentmidnight i remember that, several months after this problem was reported in September of last year. It has been almost a full year.  They aren't even trying. We will slowly leave and they will dupe newcomers into buying the pixel watch.

Best Answer

New September 5, 24 update still haven't resolved issue.   We still can't edit completed workouts to different exercise type or user defined exercise types.

Best Answer

Does anyone know if this problem exists if you have a Pixel watch?  I would assume it does since the problem is with the app, not the tracker.

I'm assuming the same. Had a look at a 45mm Pixel today. Looks good but not buying one until I'm confident the software fully works.
