Can't pair Alta HR with phone - spinning icon

My Alta HR has had a lot of trouble syncing with my phone lately. So I restarted it with the 3 taps on the charger. That didn't help.

 

I uninstalled the Android FitBit app and reinstalled it. That didn't help.

 

I used "Forget my device" on the phone. Now I'm trying to pair the Alta again and it won't work. The phone sees the Alta, but when I tap it to pair them, it just hangs. It says "Pairing..." and then a spinning circle icon appears. And it never pairs.

Having a similar issue w/ a regular Alta.  Issue started after upgrading to Android 11.

 

Able to sync my Alta w/ a different device running a lower version of the Android OS.

I have an Android, and yes it is listed as compatible. I am on the latest Android OS

Thanks Suebrue! I did update to the latest Android OS recently. Booo.... Fitbit needs to fix this.
