Hi, i cannot log in to my fit bit app when using cellular data. I can connect straight away using WiFi. This is extremely annoying. Please advise. All other phone services working as normal via cell data such as connecting to the Fitbit community!

Hi, @Dastrdly , there is definitely no Fitbit setting that would prevent this.

Do you get notifications on your Versa when you are out and about?

What error messages or problems do you see when you try to log into your app when using cellular data?

If you continue to have problems it might help to delete and redownload your Fitbit app.  You won’t lose any data doing this, but do make sure that you know the email address you used to set up your Fitbit, and your password, as you will need to log in again once the app is re-downloaded.

Hi Julia,

Many thanks for replying to me.  I have a Charge 2 fitbit.  My phone is a OnePlus 3T running Android 9.  I don't believe I have been getting notifications recently when away from WiFi.  However, this used to work.  When using cell data, if I attempt to use the app and I have already been accessing the app previously on WiFi, then all of the fields in the app refuse to load, except for resting heart rate.  If I have not used the app recently, then the app asks me to log in.  When I log in with my email address and password, the app then reports incorrect email address or password.  It does so with out accessing the FitBit servers, as there appears to be no time delay at all in the response.  However, the same email address and password work as soon as I get back into WifFi range, so this is clearly a bug somewhere.  I can confirm that all other phone functionality works as normal, such as web access, email syncing, other app notifications, whatsapp, etc.  I tried deleting and re-loading the app and this has not resolved the problem - I still cannot access the app on 4G

Do you get any errors @Dastrdly?

Is your password set so that you do not need to log in everytime the app gets opened?

Could you possibly have Amy security app running on thre phone?

Hi there,  Nope, I don't get any errors.  I have noted that in recent weeks I get requested to log in far more frequently, which is a pain, but no errors as such.  The phone operating system works very smoothly.  Occasionally at the end of a run, the fitbit app refuses to give me the finish flag when I attempt to end the recording, but that is all.  My password is set.  Normally, I just open the fitbit app and it runs, straight off the bat.  I had a free version of Eset mobile security on the phone, but that has been there two years.  I have now removed it and will monitor what happens.
