Hi have charge 2 that wanted to update software on marginal connection and came up with ! Symbol and even full reset will not restart any suggestions currently it is knackered

Success by deleting the watch from account and adding as new device following usual procedure it does update and now works
So in summary it seems the installation protocol is far more powerful than the normal update hope this helps

Hello @Soggyspaniel, welcome aboard to the Fitbit Community. Make sure your tracker is charged, since a firmware update can take several minutes and is demanding on the battery. If the tracker is not responding please try these steps:

Thanks for information have tried half dozen times over past few days but still fail to update screen appears on app but watch still just shows "i" oddly still counts steps and downloads just cannot show anything on watch currently unhappy as did not want to spend an African safari trying to sort out a bloody watch please help
