Charge 2 sync issues since 07/2018 updates

Using Charge 2 with app on Galaxy S7. Since all of the July 2018 updates (I've checked for new ones-up to date as of this AM) syncing is very poor and inconsistent.  I have all day sync turned on but no syncing for hours (2-4)at a time. When I try manual sync, it frequently still does not update and leaves me with the (!) icon.  Trying to use sync data with MyFitnessPal so need it to sync more frequently. Have tried logging out, restaring phone and Bluetooth....nothing fixes this. I can't understand how Fitbit programmers have so much trouble getting this app to work. Without it, the Fitbit devices are basically useless. I like the devices and app, when they work, but have begun to reseach alternatives.

I agree that the issue seems to be with the app. I have confidence their
developers will figure this out soon and we will be back to normal.

Same problem on iPad. Tried removing app, turning off Bluetooth, resyncing. I am frustrated.

Hello everyone!

Thanks for sharing your thoughts and feedback on the situation.

I'd like to recommend that, if you haven't, you try these steps:

  1. Go into your phone or tablet's Bluetooth settings and look for your Fitbit.
  2. Remove the Fitbit from that list.
  3. Restart both the device and your Fitbit
  4. Run the setup process as if it was a new Fitbit.

Let me know if there are any further questions.

I have gone through all the recommended procedures to restart, unpair, re-pair (set -up again as new device).  Have had success maybe three out of over 2 dozen attempts - literally, over the past 30+ days.  Charge HR still not holding charge after successful re-pairing and syncing. Most times after restarting, it displays wrong time and won't sync. Just tired and frustrated that it keeps happening. Shouldn't have to go through this every other day to use the device. I will say that the app and device worked flawlessly for the year and half prior to July 2018, when all the problems started.

I've tried that before. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. No
matter what, why should I have to continually do this to make my watch
work?

Not sure what they did but I can report my Fitbit is now continuously
syncing again. I know I haven't touched a thing so it wasn't on my end
that I am aware of. Of course if there was an update that downloaded like
a bluetooth change or something related it is possible it might not have
been that the Fitbit folks fixed it either. Just happy it seems to be
better now. Hope the rest of you having issues are also finding improved
results.

Happy steppin'

Seems to me that it was a Fitbit change to their coding as the issue with
step count and other stats going to zero was also resolved. Perhaps these
were related.

Love my Fitbit!

Hello everyone!

Thanks for sharing your experiences on the matter.

If you haven't, please try to update the latest version of the Fitbit app. You can read more about it in here

In the meantime I'd like to ask what Android version is everyone still experiencing this using. Maybe that could give us more details on what is going on.

Look forward to your replies! Let me know if I can help with anything.

I installed latest version of fitbit app. when ut cane out on 8/21. I am
running it on a Samsung S7. Current installed android version in 8.0.0. So
far, it seems to be working better, though I did have one day where it did
not sync for 8 hours. It updated fairly quickly with manual sync request.
Other than that, it's been syncing at least 2-3 times per hour on its own.
Not exactly contant, but acceptable. Still sometimes shows an aggreagate of
steps from the last couple of days for a few seconds when I open the app.,
but then fixes it. Strange.....

Hello @Blade0854 and @drakaj. Welcome to the Forums @GeoffB71.

@GeoffB71, Thanks for trying all of those steps. In this case I'd like to recommend that you try removing your Fitbit from the Bluetooth devices list on your phone and then running the setup once again as you are already doing. That should do the trick.

Let me know if you have any further questions.
