Charge HR2 dropping steps

I just went on a walk that is always 8,500+. I do this same walk every day, so  I know how many steps I should get. I had over 3,000 before I went on my walk tonight, but somehow only broke 8,500 steps after my walk. I checked my workout and it said I had gotten 8,500 steps on my walk, so I went back to the dashboard to see where my previous 3k steps had gone, and then they disappeared from my walk. When I went back into my workout, the impact had dropped from 8,500 to 5,500. My 16-minute miles dropped to 15-minute miles. What the heck is going on? This is totally NOT cool when I'm in a challenge! My app and Fitbit are up to date, I've restarted twice in the last 24 hours because it dropped steps yesterday as well. But what was weirdest tonight was seeing my impact drop over a 30-second timespan. I'm kind of frustrated with this.

Do you have more than one device?  I have HR2, Alta, and recently got a Flex2.  Twice the Flex2 has signalled that I made my daily goal but then when I went to sync, 2000 or so steps disappeared.  Now if I wear Flex2 to work, I make sure to sync often and switch to HR2 right away when I get home so I can better see progress.   This may be totally unrelated to your problem...

I only have one Fitbit. I think I am going to have to factory reset and hope that works.
