My Fitbit Flex 2 should be arriving in the next 1-2 days and I have been thinking about to prior issues that I thought I would take the time to ask a question(s) about before getting the device and being completely and utterly lost! How do I manually change the calorie intake to what I need and what my doctor wants me to intake from what Fitbit recommends for me? The app recommends over 2,000 MORE calories than what I actually consume in one day and that puzzles me! I only eat 1,200 (I am overweight, so seeing the recommended calorie intake is really discouraging -again, it was 2,000 more calories than my normal 1,200 intake-, no weight would be lost). Yes, I updated my goal weight and current weight. Yes, I entered data about the things they required. Do I need to have my device synced BEFORE customizing the calorie intake?
Anything helps, and a huge thank you!

I'm going to try to give you the answer, so you can enjoy of the Fitbit experience the best way possible:
In this case you need to customized your food plan, since is require to remove any type of food plan you had and enter your own calorie allowance. This need to be done through your online-Dashboard. For more details about the steps to follow this post will guide you through. In that post I've explained about calories and how affect the exercise so you can skip that part and go straight to the instructions to enter your own target.
See you around and let me know if you have other questions.

Thank you, @RobertoME!
I realized it was due to the calorie deficit that the number of calories was very high.
