19,291 hits in 24 hours is excessive and malicious. That is the number of DNS queries for logx.optimizely.com I am getting from an Android 8 Samsung phone running the Fitbit app. I have a network monitoring device on my LAN that reports DNS queries, and it uses a blocklist for bad actors. logx.optimizely.com is on that list. I had to force stop each running Android app to observe which app was doing the queries, and it was the Fitbit app. This is a serious defect in the app. I have read in Android forums that some users maximized their data plans because of this defect.

Yes, I can confirm this.
It is currently by far the most blocked traffic by my Pi-hole that is initiated by my phone when I am using the Fitbit app.

While searching I found this thread. I am saddened that there is no official response. In the last 24hr my Android phone has made more than 6,000 requests to logx.optimizely.com.
More interesting is that I installed the app "NoRoot Firewall" to analyse this behaviour and was surprised to see that the calls to optimizely bypass the VPN that the Firewall established. This leaves me feeling very uncomfortable about the security of my personal data.
Edit. PS. This may be of interest too, https://www.reddit.com/r/fitbit/comments/qmasnp/dns_requests_from_fitbit_app_to_logxoptimizelycom/

It appears, so far anyway, that the Android App release 3.63 (36337401) is not calling optimizely every second.
