I'm using a pixelwatch 2 and a Motorola phone running Android 11. Within the Fitbit app, the ECG download on my phone has been working fine until a week or so ago. Now it just spins and the download never completes. Looking at older posts with the same trouble, I've repeatedly attempted to clear the cache, uninstall the app, reboot my phone, reinstall the app, with no success. The trouble may have started with Fitbit version:
Also -
I have two Chromebooks running the same ChromeOS version and the same Fitbit version but an older version than the one on my phone, and ECG download works fine on both:
... and Fitbit version:
For now I'm holding off updating the Fitbit app on my chromebooks for fear that ECG download will break there as well.
If there's a remedy for my phone troubles please share. I have a feeling that in the 4.26.1... update, something got screwed up in the validation of permissions for file access and the download is not proceeding because of that (the update broke compatability with Android 11). My wife has a pixel7 running Android 13. I can test the download there using the same Fitbit app version. When I do this, I'll add that result.

ECG download still not working on my Android 11 Motorola phone.
On my phone Fitbit is currently at version 4.32.
It'd be interesting to know if there are others using Fitbit + Android 11 Motorola phone that do not have the ECG download issue. If there are, that would suggest the trouble I'm having may be specific to my phone setup (perhaps an incompatability with another app). I suppose I could reset my phone to factory settings, then install only the Fitbit app to see if it works. I'm not, however, motivated to take that drastic action (yet).

This is reportedly a software bug that only affects 'some' Users, but I haven't seen any clarification for why that is happening to only some people.
My wife has a Galaxy S10 running Android 12, a Charge 6 running 210.26 and Fitbit App 4.30, and it is still unable to download ECG PDF files as well.
Someone using a mirror site discovered that Fitbit App 4.25 was the last known version that worked reliably for ECG PDF downloads, so having it still not working after 5 more App versions is unacceptable for an important device feature like this.

It is appalling support for a device which is sold on the basis that it will give you an ECG trace. It's impossible to directly contact Google support about it also. The only response I get I'm Google is that the community staff removing posts stating how on existent any real support from Google is. One thing to try might be to turn on developer settings and try using an app that can give the Fitbit app more permissions.

I'll consider your idea. For now the problem is more of an annoyance rather than a blocking issue because I can get the ECG's from my chromebook (The Fitbit Android app installed on my Chromebook has no issue downloading ECGs).

One has to wonder, if ECG PDF download functionality was working in App 4.25 and a software bug was introduced in App 4.26 that broke that functionality, why is it so difficult for Google to simply look at the code changes made in App 4.26 and then back out the relevant code changes to restore ECG PDF download functionality again?
We're now at App 4.32 and ECG PDF download functionality still doesn't work?

I also just found out ECG download isnt working anymore.
Any idea where I can download a 4.25 version safely?

Another "me too" post. I have a Pixel Watch 3 and a Realme 7 Pro (Android 12), and I get this issue, it just says "Downloading" forever - I literally left it overnight to see if it would eventually complete. I have tried the previously mention things in this thread, barring using an old app version, because I don't like that idea. This was the feature I bought the watch for more than anything else, so fingers crossed it gets fixed, this seems to have been going on for rather a long time.

I had this problem a few months ago on my Pixel 6a. If you try clicking on the message icon on the today page, then notifications, you should see all of the reports you have generated all stacked up waiting.

@rownie23 , Thank you for your help and for sharing your experience. We really appreciate your willingness to help.
@TonyDis , Thank you for your message. Just to clarify: the situation with the reports downloads, is not specifically to a phone model or brand.
This issue affects the Fitbit app.
If you haven't done so yet, please make sure that you have the latest Fitbit app installed.
Please do not forget to confirm here, if the app update helped or not, so that we can report back to our team .

Same for me (4.34.1 no improvement). In my attempt (just because...why not) I turned off media permissions, cleared the cache, rebooted my phone, picked a file to download, chose "yes" to "allow access to files and media", and the download still did not work (display showed "downloading" and never moved onto the file saving step).
I will continue to wait and remain hopeful.

Galaxy S10, running Android 12
Charge 6 Device FW 210.26, App SW 4.34.1
Unloaded and reloaded ECG App
Restarted phone and ran ECG test, with 'Inconclusive' test result, which is fine with a PAC arrhythmia.
PDF file created and App notification indicated that it was ready for download, but it just entered the infinite PDF download loop, as always, so App 4.34.1 did 'not' resolve this issue.

Ditto on my wife's S10e. Tried all of above. No help.
