Edit exercise in android app

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I just switched from an iPhone to a Samsung. That means I also changed to the android version of the Fitbit app. I expected it to be the same but apparently not. I can't manage to edit my exercises in the android app. This is a very important feature for me since I sometimes manage to press the wrong option on my Fitbit and want to change afterwards if I have accidentally registered my weight training as yoga. And sometimes I forget to shut off the Fitbit registering an exercise that I have started with the button and then I want to be able to shorten it afterwards. How is this done in the android app? I don't seem to be able to do this on the website either.

Also why doesn't the android app give me "previously eaten with" when I register my food like the iOS? That saves a lot of time. Why are the apps different?

Hello @Dexterity.

Thanks for bringing this up.

Unfortunately the Android app doesn't have a way to edit activities at the moment.

I'll be sure to bring this up to the rest of the team. If you have he time maybe you could vote for this suggestion about it. Be sure to also read the FAQ if you have any questions on the way the Feature Suggestions board works.

If you have any further questions, please let me know.

The reply you gave is wrong, you cant edit an activity on the web dashboard If you use a built in exercise like treadmill instead of bike you can not edit it to the right one. The only way to edit an activity is if it was a auto detected exercise. Also the option of asking for the feature for android has been spoken about before and was closed.

Hello @Dlaf42.

Thanks for that correction, you are absolutely right. I should've gone more in-depth in my answer. I'll be sure to do better in the future.

As for the suggestion, that one is listed as 'Not Currently Planned' which doesn't necessarily mean that it is not being looked at. You can still vote for it and, in the future, it might be changed to something different. I'd say that showing your support is certainly worth it.

Please let me know if there is anything I can help you with.

This is very weird to me. Why are the apps for the different operative systems different from each other? This means I have to keep my old iPhone charged just to be able to use this feature because I have to edit exercises at least once per week. Today for example I was biking and I forgot to turn it off so the bike ride was registered longer than it was supposed to. This means I have to charge my old phone up just to make this correction. It kind of creates a stress about that I HAVE to remember to turn off the exercises I start with the button. If I can't put correct data there's no point in using the tracker at all.

Ok- I've been looking online for a while and am a bit confused.

I logged an exercise class at the gym- by starting a workout.

When I got home, I realized I didn't 'stop' the workout at the end of class.

So I'm trying to edit the end time of the exercise in the Android app or on the website. Just to be clear- is there a way to do this?

Ok- So I took an iPhone, because I have one, and downloaded the app and was able to edit it in the app on an iPhone.

- That this can happen only on an iPhone is bizarre for a product this mature

- That this isn't clear or documented anywhere is as much a problem as the limited functionality itself.

I have this issue as well.  I found that you can only edit exercise start and end times on iOS or the PC app from the Microsoft store, neither of which I have regular access to. I have to borrow my wife's ipad.
