@ach10718 I'm sorry for this experience and thanks for taking the time to report it. As @SteveH mentioned, this is a known inconvenience and my team is currently aware of it. So, please note that I've merged these posts to the thread mentioned for updates and information.

I've tried every combination of uninstalling, turning off, etc. This issue has NOT been resolved.

My work around is to turn sync off on my email app so that I manually reload them. Keeps the fitbit notifications down.

Wish i could   there lies the problem

@Waazoo, I believe@SwisMisElf is saying to turn off automatic email syncing on Android itself. Ie manually go & get email when required (triggering the Fitbit email alert).

That should work, but is a pain.

Try this, until the developers fix the issue and release an update:

I did all that and it didn't work. Sure they get this fixed soon.

Please let everyone know as this is very annoying. The device should not suddenly auto turn on a notification.

Dear Fitbit Moderator,

You can't mark a thread as "Solved" with a "Best Answer" when it is neither solving the OP's (and every subsequent user's) issue, nor should it be considered an answer, let alone the best one, when it doesn't contribute to resolving the issue. This isn't solved, and saying that you're working to identify a resolution is not an answer.

Please unmark as Solved and only update once you have the solution at hand. In the meantime, a reddit post or a tweet thread or anything for users to follow for live updates (instead of refreshing an already Solved-Fitbit community forum post) would be appreciated.

You'll be around, but it's already been 72 hours with no progress, so how are we supposed to take "around" at face value?

I agree    how long should this take.....at the very least put an update out there to take us back to pre update.    Im getting my fossil watch back out....   this is crazy.

A couple of weeks ago the problem was with Look Alive notifications, waking me up at all hours and now this. I've turned off all alarms, and now all notifications and turned off vibration but guess what - none of that works! Fitbit still wants me to look alive at 4 a.m.

For this notifications issue, I set up a dummy email account, changed the email address on my Fitbit Account to the new one and unsubscribed to all Fitbit emails. But guess what - I keep getting email notifications from the old email address that I just deleted from the app and website.

I sometimes get in excess of 500 emails per day and I can't take this constant vibrating. So this didn't work either.

Time to ditch the Fitbit!

It should be noted that there are a *ton* of frustrated people giving the app 1 star on the Google play store because of this issue. Is there a time-frame for a fix??

Best Answer

Yup....sure is....its that they are aware and working on it.....been a week now    charging my watch more now    miss messages because my watch is always vibrating     im fed up as well

I had to turn my always vibrate off on mine - and missing notifications too. I'd be charging my versa everyday if I left it on. It would be nice if we could get an update...

Just read a headline ....fitbit update adds stress.....  thought wow they are admitting to the screw up....no.... they are adding stress to the things the fitbit tracks.   Now they can track how everyone feels when they do an update and everyone gets pissed off. I guess then, they wont have to pop their head in here once in a blue moon .

Best Answer

It's been a week of waking up throughout the night any time an email comes through. Is there an update yet? This feels like a scheme because this started happening when the new Fitbit was announced.

Hi,

I'm having the same issue.

Best Answer

I uninstalled the app and re-downloaded it and the issues went away (thank goodness!)

I am having the same issue, the app is just turning the emails back on.  It is driving me insane as continually going off and now its blocking messages!
