Email notifications won't turn off

I keep on turning off email notications and it keeps turning back

So, my fitbit just started giving me email notifications this week and I LOATHE this. Why on earth would this be a feature ANYONE would want?! 

 

An update was supposed to have fixed this, so what's the excuse in 2022? I have no idea how to get this to stop. My device might as well be trash at this point, and I LOVED it.

 

I have terminal cancer and sleep is essential to me, so getting buzzed awake at all hours by spam is pure torture. Fix this. Fix it now.

I realize that I am responding to an old post but this issue has come up again with my Charge 5.  I don't want to receive email notifications.  I have email disabled in my Charge 5 on the app.  I have checked and rechecked my email settings and should not be receiving notifications.  How do I stop my Charge 5 from getting email notifications?  Too much junk mail and miss the reminders I use.
