Estimated Oxygen Variation graph is broken

Hi, I just noticed that the green and yellow lines have changed and now are all over the place on the graph. All graphs for different days start with a 0:00 hrs. The fluctuations are not at all in line with what I was reading up until today.  Anyone experienced this issue?? Thanks

I'm doing exactly that too

Update is fine except it messed up the oxygen variations. For years I haven't had any oxygen issues according to Fitbit and in one update I am consistently in the yellow (see attached photo). It also changed existing reading for nights going back months. Please revert the changes. There is no point in having data if it is not accurate.

It's still not fixed. Why do we pay for this again?

This happened with the update; mine is the same.   They'll put out an update soon,  I hope.   This Gao is important to me as a CPAP user.   Frustrating.

*graph.  Sorry.

Yes, same here.  Very scary to see the crazy yellow lines "indicating breathing issues" which should be discussed with your Dr.

Come on Fitbit techs...get it together and fix this!

I was not having any issues with the oxygen variation on 7.22 - 7.29, and now I suddenly am.  If you tried to fix something for others, it broke for me.

Same for me, oxygen variations are high and all. Over the place. I panicked because I have sleep aphnea. It has also changed my other graphs. What's going on?

Best Answer

Revert the estimated oxygen graphic to the earlier view NOW.

This particular graphic visual change moved to production this week is not providing the best visual for the data, and it is giving your users needless anxiety.

PLEASE PRIORITIZE THIS GRAPHICS REVIEW.

This one graphic mod in the sleep section is not a good enhancement. Please get developers to revert to the earlier, more appreciated graphic. Thank you.

I've seen this too with my oxygen variation. I've never seen so much yellow before, usually just at the end of my sleep period. Now it's saying my whole night looks just like this graph you posted and it's retroactively changed previous nights as well. Is a different algorithm analyzing the data?

I believe several changes were made to the oxygen variation display, different way of analyzing the data and a different presentation. The axes need to be labeled, especially the Y axis. The original display was a first derivative plot with a smooth curve. This new one seems to have too much granularity and the Y axis seems to have been expanded. A label would certainly help. The data as they are presented now are worthless. The previous presentation was slightly better since it was a smooth curve which could be easily overlaid mentally on the sleep chart.

The recent update on the Oxygen Variation Table has rendered it useless.  This was a key reason for me going to premium version and now it is no longer helpful... I would VERY much like this update on the table to be reversed.

I noticed that the graph is messed up since last update. I compared the graphs on on my google pixel 5 which has the older app version on it with the newest app version on my galaxy s22. On the old version it shows that I am all good and in the green while on the new one it shows I am mostly in the yellow. I almost contacted my doctor for some tests if I have some breathing issues but then noticed that the messed up graphs go back when I bought my versa 2. If support needs more screenshots then I can provide them with information on software versions and phone details.

I'm still kinda freaked out every morning when I see the est O2 variation.  I think I only went into yellow maybe half a dozen times over the course of the existence of this measurement prior to the change. To see so much yellow now is definitely disconcerting.  I'm relieved to see others (thanks, AndreaVersa2can, et al) for posting their experience w/ readings.  I look forward to getting the glitch ironed out.

Yes, same with me and my Fitbit sleep graph. Very scary to open the graph
and see those lines scribbled crazily with a description under it saying
this is an indication of breathing issues. Fitbit board if directors need
to hire knowledgeable tech engineers. There seems to be too many
complaints...not good for the company!

I haven't done the update to the Charge 5 firmware but that's what my oxygen saturation chart looks like since the update to the FitBit app with the new graphs.  I'm not quite sure how to interpret the new graph because of all the yellow.  Before my chart was mostly all green with a little excursion in yellow every once in a while.  Now it looks like @christinas_7  chart.  Does this mean FitBit thinks my breathing is suddenly worse than before or am I interpreting the chart wrong.  They need to give us some guidance to read the new chart.

Ohhh no... I also had a panic attack too.
I just got off the line with reps and again it's either factory reset,
which you will lose all data or just wait... ugh..

Yep, same. I've already been researching for the best trackers on the market. I can deal with issues - every company has them - but the lack of customer engagement and efficient communication shows that they don't value the user experience at the level that they should.

Same here, keep reading posts seems like a Android problem with fitbits update. Does anyone else an Android?

Best Answer
Absolutely, completely agree with you. Customer support is essential and
there is none at Fitbit. I called and was on the phone over an hour with
someone who could not speak English and the reception was impossible. Plus,
he had no idea what he was doing!
Not a reliable company!

Wow, it's great that some of you guys preserved screenshots of the before times:-) I wish I had done that. But it seems quite clear that if hundreds of us have suddenly developed sleep apnea, there is something rotten at Fitbit. The fact that this has now been going on for over a week and there is still no real response from the company other than "we're working on it" with no public admission that they released a software update that had not been properly tested is a terrible testament to their customer service.
