Estimated Oxygen Variation graph is broken

Hi, I just noticed that the green and yellow lines have changed and now are all over the place on the graph. All graphs for different days start with a 0:00 hrs. The fluctuations are not at all in line with what I was reading up until today.  Anyone experienced this issue?? Thanks

The new graphs in the sleep tracker are very clunky to read.  The lines are thick and not as precise as the old version. I also noticed that I show oxygen variations in the high zone every night, whereas with the old graph I only rarely saw a high variation. Going back to past weeks when I knew there were no high variations,  I now see high variations with the new graph version. So now I don't know which version is more accurate!

REminder:

As far as I can tell this snafu  ONLY APPLIES TO THE ANDROID APP.

IOS devices are not affected

What's really strange is that the graph from when I was being screened in the hospital for sleep apnea is now a mess also.  It was previously normal because I have no sign of that condition.  My doctor wanted to check because of my breathing at night being a problem sometimes.  Turns out it's a bad dust mite allergy triggering my asthma.  A narrowing of the bronchial tubes can cause similar variations in SPo2 when it's particularly bad however my breathing doesn't ever actually stop.

Oh great! That's a problem for me. I guess I'll start looking for another brand tracker.

Thanks for the info.

And while I'm at it (soapbox).....

Fitbit ought to present the O2 data just like the pulse data.

(No fancy footwork with unknow variation scales.

(As my Dr says:  these are variations from what ?  Unless you know what you are comparing, the graphic is useless to myself and to my physician.

(Are you comparing the current O2 reading with the immediate previous reading? Are you comparing  the current reading with the average of the prior 2 minutes? Are you comparing the average of the current 2 minutes with the average of the prior 2 minutes?  Is it 5 minutes?

These are questions that the Fitbit community has asked for over 3 years, with no satisfactory answer.

At least with the pulse rate graphic you know what is being presented)

I wear a CPAP and never have orange lines. Scared the crap out of me. The orange lines are all over. Glad it's not just me. But, I wish they would get it fixed.

I recently had an update on my Fitbit. . Since then my oxygen variations are always down to be dangerously in the orange. . I checked from before the update and they have also all been changed to dangerous levels even though they never did before. Does this have a problem now as I don't believe the readings

You are not alone. I posted from the phone app to the Sleep Well Community and many folks replied that they have also noticed the change in the oxygen variation graphs.

I have been in contact with FitBit Support on Twitter and they are aware the recent firmware update has changed all current AND past Oxygen variation ratings. Here is their comment to me:

Thanks for your efforts. We’re currently working to resolve it and hope to have a fix soon. Be sure to keep your Fitbit device and app up-to-date to ensure you receive the quickest resolution. We appreciate your patience and look forward to getting you back on track.

I find the Oxygen variation very useful as I do all the other data it collects. I don't expect it or any of the other Fitbit data to be as accurate as a medical device. I was very resistant to being treated for sleep apnea because the sleep study had put me in the 'mild' category. I tried the CPAP machine kicking and screaming the whole way. It was the Oxygen variation data that my Fitbit recorded daily, without a big to-do, in the privacy of my own home, that helped me see the value of the CPAP.

If you look at Fitbit's Facebook page it's a runaway train of complaints just like this in the visitor posts section also.  Apparently this issue has been escalated, whatever that means.  It would be nice to get an announcement or a message addressing this as a known issue.  Something to that affect.

Odd, because this morning my EOV showed a lot of yellow - I rarely if ever have yellow - I am always in the green (low) so then I clicked a night a week ago and then a month ago - and the previosly green spikes have turned to mostly yellow and green ?  Is there a glich now?

Do we all of a sudden have sleeping problems ?  That weren't recorded before? - makes no sense - my heart rate during sleep is sitll low so I am hoping this is another glitch in Fitbit programmin,g which seems to happen when they do an update - my mother used to say if it ain't broke don't fix it

Me TOO!!!   And this oxygenation feature is SO IMPORTANT to me, that alas, I will be compelled to leave Fitbit over it unless it is fixed PRONTO!!!   I pay too much for premium feature for Fitbit to NOT FIX PROBLEMS that we have built up expectation that it works.  And I "loved" all of my Fitbits.... from Charge 2 through 4.... Like I said, if not fixed, I will find an alternative but this is not what I want.  I just want my Charge 4 to work as it did before the update.   Google - do you care about Fitbit customer base?  if so, PLEASE HURRY TO FIX THIS!!!

It IS the last update. I have a Samsung S22 ultra - and since that update, ALL of my sleep tracking data chart can no longer be expanded, but can now only be viewed statically with the chart as it appears on the screen with too thick lines to read well, and worst the oxygenation readings are now WAY WAY WAY off!!!  Not just the current chart readings after the update - but it also fouls up all charts from before the update.  Judging from users who have Apple units, this isn't a problem on IOS, just on Android.  Come on GOOGLE --  since you OWN ALL OF THIS - can't you fix your software so it works... "fixed in previous update" -- this  BUG has FOULED UP MY USER EXPERIENCE..  if not fixed SOON I will leave you! This is customer abuse.. not caring or honestly addressing this/these problems. Too bad Google bought Fitbit - it was great before then!

I don't think they know about a lot of things unfortunately. This oxygen reading issue has been going on for at least two weeks now. A bigger issue is that I can't even connect via Bluetooth to sync my Sense with my Google Pixel 6 Pro device which is a Google device that owns Fitbit. Even if you remove the sense from the Fitbit app and then try to re-add it it can take many many attempts to try to re-add it to the app. It's unbelievable how bad this is.

Yes, same here. I used to see a very detailed line chart of oxygen variation and now it's just a useless blur of continuous ups and downs. Completely useless. Even if I go back months or to last year, the nice charts are gone.
