'Exercise day's tile not loading

EDIT: As of Sep 9, the exercise tile is no longer pulsing grey and is once again interactive. HOWEVER, exercise sessions logged on my Fitbit device are not syncing correctly with the app (steps and zone minutes are updating but the exercise session e.g. "Workout" is not displaying and I can't see the graph of my heartrate during said exercise. Also, I am unable to view any previous weeks' exercises going back to when I set up the device. Since it appears from this thread and at least one other that many people are experiencing similar issues, I highly recommend that everyone contact support so the company sees the similar tickets and is more likely to take remedial action. The squeakier the wheel, the more grease, as they say...

Here is a screenshot of when I try to view a previous week's exercises:

Over the last couple days, I've noticed the 'Exercise days' tile on the app isn't loading. Instead of the normal text, it's just pulsing grey rectangles like it's loading, but it never loads. At first it was just the current day, but now when I go back several days, the tile isn't loading for any of the days. All the other tiles load just fine.

I've included a screenshot of what the tile looks like when it's pulsing light and dark grey.

Well I was very smug... my app was back working perfectly since Monday but overnight my Fitbit Versa died!! Literally would not turn on this morning (and no alarm!). So I took my son's Versa that he doesn't use, installed it, updated the firmware and synced it and now the Exercise tile is greyed out again! Oh well, back to my old Polar watch...

Seriously what is the point of a fitness tracker that doesn't track? I was able to manually enter exercise for about a week the back to the grey tile. Such utter garbage. Customer service is not helpful, the suggest you do a bunch of things when it's clear they know it's an app issue. So disappointed 😭

Hello all

There's an update for the Android Fitbit app, ver 4.26.1, that started rolling out today, 25 Sep 2024. I got the update this morning. Although I haven't seen confirmation, I'm hoping that this update fixes the recent issues that you've been experiencing.

The app updates tend to rollout in waves. If you don't see the update right away, keep checking.

Unfortunately, 4.26.1 does not fix (any of) the issue for me.

4.26.1 is what I have currently. It's still crap. I still have the pulsing gray Exercise tiles.

As others have observed, I updated to the new version 4.26.1, and nothing changed at all. Can confirm that this did not fix the issue.

Talked to support again this morning and they told me that support for my phone has been deprecated from the app and that's likely the issue for me. My phone can't go above Android 9, and apparently the min spec for the fitbit app is Android 10.

I have Android 14 on my phone so that's not the issue.

Already updated and still the exercise days tile is not working. It's been almost a month that this issue has been occurring, kind of embarrassing for a large tech company, IMO. C'mon Google fix this already... Also maybe compensate us for this huge inconvenience

Just finished a chat session for Google Fitbit . She said they are aware there is a problem. No time line on when it will be fixed. 😑 Her advice was so "check the play store from time to time for an update". 😣😩

I can now manually enter exercises, thankfully, because the auto sync for exercises is not working. When I toggle to 'run' on the fitbit, hit start, run, and stop it when I'm done, I can see all the info on my watch.  When it sinks to my phone, it syncs as though I was on an elliptical instead.  The first time I thought maybe I just kept toggling through the exercises and hit go on the wrong one.  Nope.  This happens every time.  I have to delete the elliptical exercise and manually enter the running.  Sigh.

Just came to say that I made the switch to Garmin a flcouple days ago, and am LOVING it. No regrets about leaving at all. Plus, it seems to be actually estimating calories, and I have since learned that fitbit is very generous with the estimated calorie burn. No wonder I struggled to lose weight. So many inaccurate metrics with fitbit.

Good luck everyone!

Hey fitbit... Just came here to say goodbye! Hope you level up your game and your customer service. Maybe if you had been transparent about this exercise tracking issue I might have stayed. I now have a functional Samsung tracker for half the price with way more functionality. 😊

Well, everything seems to be back. My pixel watch 3 is syncing fine and exercise tile seems to be working fine for anything yesterday onwards.

The grey tile issue remains for any days prior to 30th September.

I came from Garmin, and they have perfected capturing and presenting metrics related to health and fitness. There is so much missing and problematic with Fitbit but I am happy to forgo the detailed data from Garmin cause I want a seamless Google ecosystem where everything just connects and makes sense.

I am still on the fence about returning the watch, going to do a few more workouts and see what it looks like. I am rooting for you Google/Fitbit!

I have the pixel watch 3 too, but my app is still not working. I still have
the gray tiles. 😩 I do most of my workouts through Peloton and they are
not showing up there. But I know the data is being sent to Fitbit from
Peloton because I use the Weight Watchers app and all my Peloton workouts
show up there which means Fitbit is sending that data. It's crazy I can't
see it on the Fitbit app!!

That's disappointing ☹️

I am in Australia, hopefully they are rolling out the fix and it will come to other users and regions soon. I am away from home so can't test peloton workouts but hopefully it's not an issue by the time I am back.

For those of you who say FitBit is now working I happy for you. As you can see nothing has changed for me. Good luck and goodbye FitBit. I've found better FREE apps to use with my Pixel 2 watch

Well the tiles are now loading, but no exercise tracked by my fitbit Charge 6 is showing.  So still totally useless!!  Why should I have to manually input it.  Pathetic.

I seem to have entered a new phase of this ridiculousness. I started logging my workouts manually after I completed them, either through my peloton bike or through my watch after I was done and it was clear they weren't coming through. Magically starting a couple days ago after I manually logged it using the same start time my workout appeared. I even went back into my peloton history and logged a few from last week and it worked as well. I end up having to delete the manual one after the real one appears. Clearly the data is there, they're just not showing it. Can someone please just hit the magic button to make them all appear? I don't have time to go back and log every day for the entire duration of this nonsense.
