Exercise not logging heart rate in the app

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Since app update most of my workouts have no heart rate data, I had thought this was a design thing meaning now you need to pay for this data (incredibly annoying as you didn't used to) but now I see some workouts have the graph showing heart rate over time but others don't. When I look at heart rate over the day the data is there so don't understand why I can't see it on the actual workout. Any ideas? I'm using an inspire HR and it's quite old so thinking of replacing it but not sure I will stick with Fitbit if they are moving some features to subscription only.

Hi @T6X87. Welcome to the forums.

Thank you for sharing the details regarding workouts. I'm sorry to know the difficulty that you are experiencing.

I'm not sure if you are still having difficulties getting the heart rate data for the workouts. Please, try to perform the following steps on the app:

  • Log out from the Fitbit app.
  • Force quit the Fitbit app and reboot your phone.
  • Open the Fitbit app and log back into your account.
  • Check if the issue is still happening.

In addition, try to perform a restart on the tracker following the steps listed here.

Please make sure to have the latest version of the Fitbit app.

Hello @T6X87

Have you looked at your data from the on-line dashboard on fitbit.com to see if your heart rate graphs show there for your workouts? It may be best to do this from a computer or a tablet, rather than a phone:

  • At the top of this forum page, click on Dashboard (between Help and Store icon)
  • Click on Log (next to Dashboard)
  • Click on Activities
  • Scroll down to one of your completed workouts that doesn't show the heart rate graph in the app and click on View Details

If your Inspire HR tracked your heart rate during the workout, then you should see the graph in the Details. If you see the graphs, then there might be a syncing issue between your Fitbit device & the app.

There's a recent update to the Android Fitbit app to version 4.06 (as of 21 Dec 2023). Hopefully, when you install the app update, your heart rate graph for your completed workouts will show up again in the app.

Yeah in the online dashboard it is there. In the Google play store there is
no update, so my app is up to date. It still doesn't show in the app.

So that hasn't worked

The app now only shows you heart rate graphs for workouts that your Fitbit auto detects or you track by telling your Fitbit you are doing it while it's happening. The app doesn't show heart rate graphs for any workouts manually logged. Which is ridiculous since the data exists but you can only look at it on the online dashboard.

No I mean those aren't working either. I don't manually add exercise after I mean when I tell my Fitbit I'm doing something it doesn't show the heart rate data after
