Feedback about Ads showing up in the Fitbit app

What is the deal with all the ads in the application? There's a click through splash screen now, as well as a big add inside the app in the middle of my stats. I can move or rearrange all my stat boxes but can't dismiss or move the big Fitbit "save up to $50".  I like to leave the display up while I work out to see heart rate, steps, etc, but the ad makes it so you have to scroll to see everything!

I feel like this is an abuse of my doing business with Fitbit.  I'd like you to remove the ads.  Failing that, at least allow folks to opt out or dismiss them.  If you treat me like a captive audience, you'll find out I'm not.

Hello there @bhwolf and welcome aboard to the Fitbit Community @real-world.

Thank you for the screenshot @bhwolf and I appreciate your feedback regarding this ad showing up now during these holidays. I will relay your comments to our team and our intention was not to bother you.

I totally understand you @real-world, I usually watch news through YouTube in the morning before going to work and I can't avoid eventually the ads before each video. So I know this can become a bit of a nuisance over the time, but from our side this is not our intention.

Just as a reminder, you can remove the ad in the way @Rich_Laue mentioned before. Once you have follow that workaround the ad should go away.

See you later and feel free to share other feedback you may have. This help to improve the Fitbit experience.

I haven't seen these yet, a simple search of these forums will bring up more than one thread.

It has been reported that by tapping on the add, then backing out if the page that opens will remove the add.

It's pretty crazy that the only way to dismiss the ad on the stats page is to click it, then back.

It could be, but it has been reported to work. Have you found a setting to disable the ads?

Welcome aboard to our Fitbit Community @Bdstewart. Hello there @Rich_Laue@bhwolf and @Crazy-Fritter. Thank you for the feedback, I was reading your posts about this ad and I have tried to replicate the same experiencing in my phone, but no ad at all. usually this ads are only visible in the web-Dashboard in a upper banner so this cannot interrupt your visualization of your stats. In the Fitbit app, I haven't seen any ad at the moment. Usually the way to remove ads as a workaround is like @Rich_Laue mentioned before.

Regardless of this, I would like you to share with me where is this ad showing? Are you doing any manual operation in the app that trigger this ad? I would like to see if is possible to have a screenshot? This will allow me to have a closer look and a better understanding of this to give you a solution, explanation or report this in case this is an issue.

See you later and I'll be looking forward to know more about this.

I only have a screenshot of the one on the dashboard from within the app -- not the full screen on launch one.  It would be ideal to have a setting to disable them.  OR, at a minimum, easier way to dismiss, showing them less frequently, and a bit smarter ... this already is a new device, why keep trying to sell me?  It's actually having the opposite effect.

It looks like this:

I'm old school, so having something you paid for bombard you with ads is totally unacceptable. Unfortunately, this is the new reality, and won't change until we revolt big time. Since I am on a severely restricted metered connection, I disable background data, but I also deselect 'stay connected' under the name of the device in settings. Bluetooth works just fine without the internet, and it stopped the ads. If they change this, I will have to find a different solution.
