A few days ago, the Fitbit app started suggestion Fitbit recipes to me with pictures when I go to log my food (underneath Cals in vs. out). Here's a photo of the view on the app at the link below.

Is there a way to custom remove this from my Food page?
I really don't want to have more food tempting me to eat more when I'm working hard to lose weight.
It's a real deterrent to use this app to log food, which is a shame.
Best AnswerI agree, I’m not a fan of it being where it’s at. I understand they want to promote Fitbit premium but they can do that elsewhere. I have to send in my caloric intake to someone & now the process is much harder. 😡
I just talked to Fitbit support person. She says it is not possible to remove those videos. I asked her to let the appropriate people know that my husband and I find they make the food page less efficient and are of no use to us. Most of them are locked to those who don’t have fb premium, so there is no reason for them to be there at all. She said she would pass on my complaint. She also recommended that I add my complaint here since fb employees monitor these complaints.
Too true. feels like the reason I stayed with Fitbit has faded away. It’s super ad loaded now... give me the option to remove all Fitbit premium stuff. Geez...
if not. I hope a good competitor comes out.
I do not want recipe videos taking up space in my phone and slowing my fitbit app. Maybe I need to trash the fitbit since the company seems to be more focused on selling me something rather than letting me use it to be healthy. Products could be much more affordable if the producers did not spend so much money on advertising. That's why I still have a land phone line: so I can hang up on the telemarketers.
Couldn’t agree more. I have used my fitbit for about 3 years and more and more they push premium in your face. Not helpful to me to have food recipes in my face. If I can’t remove them (they slow my app down) then at least let me move them to the bottom of the page. So annoying!!!! Maybe I’ll get an Apple Watch for Xmas and switch.
Hey @Fitbit!
Here are some "better" BAD ideas,
- force users to watch a video about Premium services for 5m before we can use the app or any feature. Every time. Forcing us off your platform for good.
- And/or nag us with phone notifications every 5m that there is a Premium option. Forcing sane people to turn off all notifications of your app.
- And/Or you could just keep draining the fitbit battery by sending "sign up for Fitbit premium" notifications to it all day. That way the Apple Watch one day charge seems... Ok.
Whatever you do just please take the advertisement to eat more food from the one area that most of us calorie conscious people go to try and be honest about our intake as we endeavor to improve our lives through your product.
